Re: What do you embroider on most often?

i am
needing to get up to speed on design placement as i
want the linen to remain intact in the middle with the
designs on the border of the fabric.

Cheri,

I am wanting to do a table runner like you are talking about. I have thought it through, and here is what I have come up with. Since I am planning on useing FSL designs I will stitch them out on WSS, rinse them out, and let dry. Then I'm going to put a hankerchief hem in fabric. Now I will lay out the FSL pieces so that I can get the exact placement I want, trace the outline, and cut out leaving a scant 1/4 inch extra fabric. Net using a satin stitch sew the FSL pieces in place. I know I need to learn actual design placement, but right now life is hectic, so I look for ways to help prevent failed projects and keep everything going smoothly in my sewing area.
