Hi Barbara,
I had a futura CE100 and had nothing but problems with it. I had
to send it back to Singer Corp twice(at my expense which was about
$35)for the same problem. They would send me a new machine and
after
a few minutes of stitching the bobbin case would "jump" out of the
place where it sits and the needle would go right through the
plastic. When I called the customer service center the rep pretty
much called me a liar and send "that isn't possible". I finally
spoke
to a manager who then told me that it was a manufacturing defect in
the metal bracket that the bobbin case sits in. I told her the
problems that I had with the cust service dept and that I had
purchased a Singer machine because of their good reputation, but
that
I too had bad luck with Singer and swore I would never own another. I
thought the thing was going to catch the house on fire so I sold it
at a yard sale and went back to my old Kenmore. I now own it, plus a
Brother Innovis 1500D and I also love my Brother. Amazing machine.
Carol
I would never buy another Singer. They sent me a new machine that
was
manufactured after that defect was fixed. I used that machine for
about a year when it started to make a metal-on- metal schreeching
noise. I took it to a singer dealer to see about getting it fixed
and
was told that she didn't know without taking it all apart and there
were no guarantees. She gave me almost what i originally paid for
the
machine in store credit and i upgraded to the Brother 4000D which I
absolutely love.
There are many that have the Singer and sing praises but I
unfortunately did not have good luck.
