Software Installation...
Robert Hughes
Hello All,
I'm trying to install the PowerSDR software and the following Fatal Error dialog box pops up behind the splash screen: Interop.ADOX or one of its dependencies was not found at PowerSDR.DB.Create() at PowerSDR.DB.Init() at PowerSDR.Console..ctor(String[] args) at PowerSDR.Console.Main(String[] args) Any ideas as to how to deal with this problem? The software had been previously installed and working, but an issue arose and I needed to uninstall it and now am trying to reinstall... Thanks, Bob - KI8JM |

How and what did you uninstall? Hoping you did not uninstall the .NET framework. What did you reinstall? I'd suggest going into Add/Remove programs (in Control Panel I think) and un installing PowerSDR if it says it is there. Then go to the directory PowerSDR was installed into and make sure it is empty. Then do an install of PowerSDR 1.4.4 from Flex-Radio. See if that comes up. Then install the SoftRock PowerSDR patches for 1.4.4 from . Regards, Bill (kd5tfd) At 03:25 PM 10/4/2005, Robert Hughes wrote:
Hello All, |
I had this exact same problem and it was my own error. I installed the PowerSDR and Framework.Net as expected. Then I downloaded the Softrock40 files to another directory. For some reason I tried to execute the Softrock40 files in their directory as an installation program. That's when I got the error you describe. I wasn't looking carefully at the whole situation :-) Then later on I copied the Softwrock40 files into the PowerSDR folder where they belonged. And it worked perfectly. It sounds like you might be executing the PowerSDR file from the wrong directory. Incidently I renamed the pertinent files in the PowerSDR directory instead of over witting them. Maybe you have an old shortcut which is calling the Softrock40 files away from the PowerSDR installation. Hope this helps :-)

Great, Bob, glad you're flying. Maybe our experiences will save someone else some grief :-)
