SoftRock40 [email protected]

A replacement for the same group name in Yahoo Groups, all the users, photos, files, and messages were moved here from the original group at Yahoo Groups.

This is a restricted group, new members have to be approved, and an initial post will be moderated, no spamming is tolerated, spammers will be deleted on their first offence. This group is for individuals, Company accounts will be refused.

You may discuss various Software Defined Radios with emphasis on SoftRocks and their software both commercial and homebuilt units and the experiences with using the radios.

This will be a fairly tolerant group with regards to the radios, software, and uses and will tolerate related topics unless they start getting out of hand.

Our goal will be to create a friendly community of radio users, with several moderators to cover each other.

When applying for membership please enter your name, I see that many are not entering your name. Since the purpose of creating this list is to prevent spamming it makes it easier to see that it's a human applying and in case there are problems to verify the user, not having a name will count against you if there is a dispute.

The original SoftRock-40 was a small, low-cost, good performing 40-meter "software defined radio" receiver that plugs into a computer USB port and delivers I-Q audio signals to the computer's sound card. It was designed by Tony Parks, KB9YIG and Bill Tracey, KD5TFD as an "SDR sampler project" for hams everywhere to easily try out software defined radio.
Current Softrocks:-

The Files section of this group also contains schematics and build instructions for older Softrocks.

This is the place to express your enthusiasm, ideas, experiences, modifications, extensions and maybe more?

Thanks

The owners/moderators of the SoftRock40 Group.
