I apologize to all.
On a raspberry pi in a shell type "lsusb" and you should see this when the softrock is plugged in:
"Van Ooijen Technische Informatica shared ID for use with libusb"
This is what I see on my Raspberry Pi 4b.
This will be an interesting path for me to explore.
