What I would like to see is a SR-40 with Rocky software (could be Power
SDR at the expense of CPU cycles) and the following changes. Add an
AD9850 DDS with parallel port loading via the Rocky code to set the DDS
when the frequency is selected. The method of I/Q generation TBD. It
could be the dual LT1719s withn a phase shift network (seems "stability"
difficult to me) or the original FFs (seems easier but upper frequency
limited due to 4x). A tuneable BPF frontend, either several manually
selectable BPFs (the present BPF is good for 7-11Mhz, make one for
3-5Mhz, and 13-19Mhz) or make it manually tuneable like the preselectors
in many of the older radios.
