Re: Plan to Bird Yuba County
I used to see Yellowbilled Magpie's around this area usually on large front lawns but I haven't seen them in quite some time? Are they still around Sacramento and I'm just missing them?

Other than recommending using ebird, can anyone recommend a local park that is their favorite. We're birders and want to visit all the local parks and ebird hot spots. Two species we'd like to find are the Yellowbilled Magpie and Tundra Swans. Rich Cimino and Janet Bodle Marin County |

Re: Testing the new group
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSubhash, you bring up very good points. I am currently on the road and can¡¯t reply, however, I made you an owner (we can have more than one), so feel free to explore the administrative interface. In addition to owners, there are also moderators, so others can assist with managing the group.?Vas On Nov 5, 2020, at 12:30 PM, Subhash Chand via groups.io <SubhashC@...> wrote:

Re: Testing the new group
I agree that multiple (3 to 4) co-owners/moderators is a good idea and I'll be happy to be one of them.
Vas, does groups.io allow you to import members' emails?? I know google groups only lets you do 10 at a time.? If yes, I can provide the member list from the yahoo group.? If not, we can send the info on how to subscribe to io via the yahoo group.? I prefer the second method as it allows people who don't want to stay in the group to be easily unsubscribed.? But remember that many members are not tech-savvy, so please provide detailed instructions on how to subscribe.
Also, I think we may exceed the 200 photos/year - is the space limit based on what is sent or what is stored?? Could we delete photos older than 6 months?? Another option is to encourage members who want to share multiple photos to store photos elsewhere and provide a link to the site where the photos are.

Co-owner would be nice, just as a second set of eyes and as you mentioned, stuff happens. BillSF9c, how'bout you being the one?
As for pic size limit, this does not appear to be possible with the free account.? Photo settings are under premium features, and they are blocked.? I am not too concerned over space, yet, presuming that every picture is a high resolution photo at around 5MB, it would take about 200 photos to reach 1GB (math confirmation anyone, it's getting late). Although I've never counted them, I am not sure the current Yahoo Group has had over 200 photos in one year, or has it? My challenge now is to ensure the current group members, about 15, can post without me having to moderate the messages. Working on it, thank you for your patience. |
