300+ members to the list.

Just a quick note to say Thank You....

There are now over 300 members to the Repeater-builder list. I am not
bragging, I am grateful. I started this list exactly 2 months ago and
things have really expanded. I am seeing very good posts to the list,
and I appreciate that. I try to take enough time to completely explain
a situation so there is little room for misinterpretation, many others
are doing the same.

I would also like to inform all of you about the shared files area of
the Onelist server. This area is available for all of the users of this
list to use. There are 5 megs of space there. Please use this space to
store or archive information related to repeaters. Some of you may not
have an area to upload a picture file or other related file to, so this
area will make it nice to do so. It costs nothing to use. I have
placed some directories of my own there. You may take a look and see
how it can be used.. You must go to the Onelist homepage and "Sign In"
to get to the shared files area.

Drop me a note directly if you want to use this area and are having
trouble.

Thanks again,
Kevin K. Custer W3KKC

Kevin, I don't have anything to contribute but just wanted to say I read
all the postings and find them quite good, I have picked up a lot of
info by just reading them. I think you deserve a round of appluase and I
thank you.

Kevin I want to take a moment and thank you. I am glad that you had the
foresight to start a list that welcomed HTML postings. It is refreshing
that someone is in tune with modern technology.

Again it is refreshing to see not just an answer but an explanation.
Keep up the good work.

Modern technology has nothing to do with posting an HTML image. You see,
not all of the
people out there on this or any other reflector are capable of receiving an
HTML image.
For whatever reason, economics maybe? 14.4 connection? When I choose to
post something, I myself would rather leave the choice up to the recipient
to have the option to view it rather than shove it down their throat. Post
a URL. Never tried it I'll bet. The other obvious reason is not to bog down
the reflector with
an HTML or other image that many people may not be able to see or even want
to see.
I guess I am a little more considerate of others than some folks tend to
be.

Dan,

I stand by my statement. Kevin has my thanks. There are many lists dealing with
repeaters that discourage, and in some cases, forbid the posting of HTML or
images. As for this list, HTML is welcome and subscribers can subscribe to the
digest and I believe the images will be removed.

I have never posted an image to this or any of the other remailers. This is not
because I think it inappropriate, but because I have my own web site with about
fifty megabytes on line with more being added as time permits. As a result I do
refer people to the appropriate URL. (
) Unfortunately some people do not
have the ability to post to their own web site. It is for that reason I have
often offered space to post items of interest to subscribers of this and other
list. If my memory serves me correct, Kevin has done the same at
.
