Re: Broadcast audio on repeater receive audio
Kevin: It's a Palomar Telecom RBC-700 series with the shielding kit installed. I have no reason to believe the audio is being induced at the controller. Milt: FM broadcast station is at the same site,

Re: trying to read data on a kenwood 851 repeater
Hi Bruce, I think he was referring to noise being created by the internal fan in the 851. What power level do you have it set to? If you set the 851 to the lowest power output does the condition still

Re: trying to read data on a kenwood 851 repeater
thanks, I switched supplies to my astron 35a bench supply and no change. There is, however, a fan in the repeater itself. Butch Bussen wa0vjr wa0vjr@... irlp 7135 allstar 56023 echolink 790800

Check to see if the popping noise coincides with when the switching power power supply DC brushless fan starts up. John

Re: Broadcast audio on repeater receive audio
Where is the FM broadcast station relative to the equipment, local or distant? Is the 440 site with the 420 link a repeater with a 420 link receiver or is it a receive site with a link transmitter?

Re: trying to read data on a kenwood 851 repeater
Check the IF demodulator IC9 located near the ceramic filters on the TX/RX Unit (see below). Part number is TK14489. Hit it with a shot of freeze spray and see if your RX quality improves. If so,

Try disconnecting the audio line FROM the receiver, AT THE RECEIVER and shorting it toward the controller. Does the offending audio go away? ?is there a change in level? Then try shorting at the

Mick - The repeater is on a site-based combiner/multi-coupler arrangement. There are no cavities between that equipment and the repeater. Other users are not experiencing the problem. Yes, looked at

Re: Broadcast audio on repeater receive audio
A few things I see here. You don't say anything about having a band pass cavity. Also, have you tried ferrites on the coax for all three ports of the duplexer? As for the audio lines, you need some

When I had it, before Butch bought it, it was on 451.1875 with a plus offset. And I did the program it for a 442.100 frequencies so I hope that didn't unlock the PLL. Chad Nelson WI9HF/WRPL979
