Tait TB7100 Rx Heatsink

Hi all,
?
Has anyone got a picture of the heatsink that goes under the Rx radio in a TB7100?
?
I've added some photos of how it looks on a TM81XX
?
Thanks

Re: DeskTrac Repeater

Remember that radios of this vintage require an old, slow DOS computer, or the system won't talk properly.? I use a Compaq 386 "lunchbox" computer that is native DOS (and works just dandy on Desktracs), so I can't comment specifically on your setup, but make sure it's running slow.
The switch on the Desktrac selects whether you are programming (1) the main radio, (2) the repeater radio, or (3) the remote panel.?
As I recall, the procedure is to use the Maxtrac software to program the radios, then go back and use the special Desktrac software to finish up.
For what it's worth, Desktracs seem to all have their own firmware version (V5.36).
Also don't forget that if you are going out of the original frequency range, you will need the modified ham firmware or power out and deviation will be unpredictable.? Details on this are found in the Ham Friendly Firmware articles in the Maxtrac area here on Repeater-Builder, or you could email me.
?
Good luck - Kurt

I don't recall all the details, but the desktrac's were a pain in the a.?
You probably need the progamming manual.?? As I recall, there is a rotary switch that depending on which part of the desktrac you had to select a portion of the unit.
i.e.? one position was to program the control head, one position was to program the rf/radio, one position was to program the dc or tone remote functions.???? All of this is from my memory of programming units in the GM300/Radius conventional units 20 years ago or more.?

MTR-2000 losing it's memory/settings when powered down?

All,

Have a nice UHF MTR-2000 40w we are looking to use for 44 ham usage.

Starting from a clean default profile, it programs up perfectly and will operate perfectly.

But if powered down, TX audio & CW ID are way down, etc. It's like it's losing settings.

Reload the codeplug and it's back in business.

Test menu every thing works perfectly, including deviation.

I'm wondering if it's go an issue like the quantars with worn out non-volatile memory (EEPROM, E2PROM, or similar).

Anyone dealt with this before? Any suggestions appreciated. This repeater is otherwise very nice and hears extremely well.

Thanks in advance,
Alan Barrow

Looking for a Secure Capable Station Control Board for a UHF 100w MSF 5000, had an SCR smoke. Was also dealing with some occasional noise on the TX.

TLN 3043B0818K.

Any options would be welcome, and if you have the entire MSF5000 of similar model we might be interested in some other parts.

Thanks,

Kenwood D710 No audio on Aux port

I had a TKR 750 working on a RLC 3 Controller. I bought a New TKR D710 and hooked it up to the same cable and configured?the D710 just about Identical?to the TKR 750. If I let the Repeaters?internal controller control the Repeater I get normal Audio out of the repeater but when I turn off the Repeat enable and let the RLC control it I get PTT on the D710 but no Audio just Carrier I also have TKR 850? on another Port it will key up but no Audio and if I talk into the TKR 850 it repeats fine out of it but the D710 Transmits but no Audio out.
I have Aux In/Out 4 Set to Encode Signaling Enable, Aux Out 5 COR Active Low and Aux In/Out 6 TOR Active Low.

Re: Wacom WP-678 Cable lengths

Jeff,?

I have a Wacom WP-678 with single Type N per cavity, originally tuned by factory on 454 Tx 459 Rx.
Interconnect cable seem to be only about 3" long.? It's working on a RKR-1225 90 watt repeater, (444.900) so, it may be close.
If you have further details on the cable lengths for 444 MHz area, that would be great.

Re: General Dynamics R2600 Resouce CD Not Connecting

Make sure that the communications analyzer is turned off until you are told to turn it on. Confirm the
analyzer has completed startup before continuing with downloads. You can set communications parameters on
the analyzer, but this should not be necessary, since holding the F1 key and waiting for four beeps sets the
analyzer to 115200 bps, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity with Xon/Xoff handshaking.
It is very important that you perform the analyzer startup properly. First, press and hold the F1 key on the
analyzer. Then, turn on the analyzer and you will hear an immediate beep. Wait until you hear three beeps
together in rapid succession and release the F1 key. At this point, the analyzer has begun to communicate with
the PC

Thank you Mike, Jeff and Tim for all the info.

?

Now I know that the normal output power is 60 Watts not 90 W like now.

?

I will look at this manual to find the problem with my 1250 control head.

?

At this point I don’t know if the problem is created by the radio not suppling the correct voltage to the control heads.

?

Or if the problem is in the control head.

?

To be followed.

Re: MTR2000 UHF Low Band

He has the range 1 which won’t go above 438. You can modify them. It might just be the resistive divider to tell the controller what it is but you might run out of vco range at some point. Been about five years since I tried this, memory hazy and ad usual I didn’t document any of what I did?
