Do these cans look normal inside?

These cans have a ticket they left Sinclair in 2015. Supposedly new old stock.
?
Do they look normal inside for the age? Looks like condensation was a thing inside there at some point for the spottiness.
?
The dark & black streaks are what has me wondering. I see some on the side walls. Also the end of the plunger tube looks black..could be solder flux??
?
I was half tempted to take them apart to inspect more but I'm in no hurry. So I thought I'd ask the pros.?
?
I uploaded them to a folder on my qsl page. So they can be viewed in better resolution. Labeled them accordingly.

Re: 2175 Hz Voting tone encoder Board

Another experience

I have successfully integrated modern handheld radios onto the receiver board of Spectratac units. This provides the right balance of modern programming capabilities, proper 12.5khz operation when needed, and specific clean audio with proper timing as mentioned for legacy voters

Don't believe the OP mentioned the make/model but if the voter is a JPS unit and not a Motorola version, you can use most any tone source as the JPS worked more off syllables than SNR past a certain firmware

Another course I recently had good luck with is reviving GE Voter tone cards for Mastr receivers. The board is a good size to integrate and with a resistor change (R2) , the unit can output 2175 in place of 1950, comes with decent amplitude range for aligning, has an ARS line that likes active high logic and appears to satisfy Digitac and Spectratac voters without too much chunky audio clicks (which some personally love)

F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp

Hi, I have decided to sell this amplifier since I'm moving in a different direction for my repeater site mainly, don't have room in the cabinet for it. This app is currently tuned at 440.950, and works well at least it did when it was taken out of service over a year ago. I will ship for $550.

For Sale: Kenwood TKR-850-1 v.1 UHF repeater.

Selling the last Kenwood TKR-850-1 UHF repeater I have in the system. We are going to simulcasting so all repeaters needed a 10MHz reference input for the time base stability required to simulcast. As a result I have pulled non 10MHz reference input repeaters we had in service. This is the very last TKR-850 we were using and was used with an external controller however it does have internal control if desired. Not much more to say as it has worked well and been on the air over a decade. It is a version 1 that is tuned to the 447/442MHz band area right now. It is fully functional with power turned down to around 5 or 6 Watts at the present time. Rated at 25 Watts continuous duty, it has always driven an amplifier. $550 + actual shipping costs to your door CONUS 48. PayPal or Zelle preferred. Thanks for looking.?

You almost have it right.

The SS-32 encoder could be ordered for audible tones. It used the "newer" programmable chip and had a 1 MHz crystal allowing it to generate the audible tones. The sub-audible version used a different crystal. There was no jumper - it either did audible or sub-audible - but not both. I've used a few over the years.

Alex, the shift trick definitely does not work when trying to go up in frequency.? I havent tried going down, since there's no legal spot to move it down band...?

When using the shift trick, The RSS chokes on input and reverts to the originally programmed channel with a warning noting the frequency limits of the radio.

I know it works on some of the other Radius and Maxtrac RSS programs, as I've successfully gotten those radios into the ham bands, and still support a number of old timers with those radios as new repeaters come on line and the radios need updating.

They are nice little radios, and I had hoped to reprogram and give them away, but it seems they will not be useful.? Maybe I'll try to set them up as low power Allstar nodes for a connection around the QTH...

Be careful with aftermarket tone encoders. ?

The Spectra Tac relies heavily on timing, that some aftermarket encoders may not do properly. ?

Re: 2175 Hz Voting tone encoder Board

There was..... one chip that was made by, a name I cannot remember off the top of my head but I bought several, was originally designed to do telephone SF at 2600 Hertz. That used a 3.58 MHz Crystal. Changing it to a 3.00 MHz Crystal produced a 2180 HZ tone. I might still have some of the chips lying around. Bought them to use in a link project where we were going to use out of band signaling at 3748 Hertz with a 5.12 megahertz Crystal. That way we didn't have to depend on noise squelch or PL tones which would be too slow in my opinion.

Re: Allstar Running on a Dell Thin Client

I see multiple ways of doing it.?
First thing to ask is what will be controlling?the second radio?
one thing I see is if you use a network?controlled?power bar connected to the same network as the allstarlink node. With the Allstarlink macro fonction you can start a script by dtmf on the allstarlink node. That script could be used to send the right data to close a relay on the power bar. And another script could be used to open it back. This can also be controlled?by a simple ssh connection to the allstarlink node and starting the same script files. It can also be automated if you use it to reset a router or other network equipment?by a ping monitoring of a known stable ip address and starting a script to power down, then power up the networking?equipment.?

But the best place to have such discussion should be on the allstarlink help forum. Way better than me allstarlink Guru are there to help.?
