Re: Allstar Running on a Dell Thin Client

I see multiple ways of doing it.?
First thing to ask is what will be controlling?the second radio?
one thing I see is if you use a network?controlled?power bar connected to the same network as the allstarlink node. With the Allstarlink macro fonction you can start a script by dtmf on the allstarlink node. That script could be used to send the right data to close a relay on the power bar. And another script could be used to open it back. This can also be controlled?by a simple ssh connection to the allstarlink node and starting the same script files. It can also be automated if you use it to reset a router or other network equipment?by a ping monitoring of a known stable ip address and starting a script to power down, then power up the networking?equipment.?

But the best place to have such discussion should be on the allstarlink help forum. Way better than me allstarlink Guru are there to help.?

I am looking to network a UHF repeater into a local Allstar network using a Dell thin client.
Whilst I understand that remote shut down of the repeater can be achieved within the software, I also need the ability to shut down a second unconnected transmitter This requires a pair of ¡®closing relay contacts¡¯
I really these too would be operated by DTMF?
Any ideas please?
Thank you
