Re: Looking for advice on antenna placement for our radio club repeaters.
I will see if I can find something else at Dayton for the GMRS antenna. I purchased the CA-712EFC based on recommendations of people using it in repeater service. We found out about the LMR-400 braid

Re: Looking for advice on antenna placement for our radio club repeaters.
I would strongly suggest against getting the Hustler G6 dual band antenna. We purchased one back about 2018 and it was great, we¡¯ve purchased three more since then and they were each progressively

Re: Multi-Bay Folded Dipole for 70cm
Save your self the headache and time. Buy a commercialy made antenna. I like the Telewave ANT-450 or the Sinclair. Sinclair all the cable if is internal. Telewave it is external. If you deal with ice

Re: Multi-Bay Folded Dipole for 70cm
I agree with this assessment of the 420. We have a DB 420, 16 Bay UHF on 440.950 and like Dave says, it really screams! Tower is 60 feet with a 20 foot antenna and people think the tower is at least

Re: Multi-Bay Folded Dipole for 70cm
I'm assuming this is an amateur repeater ? There are some used 408s, 404s, and if you want to go top shelf, some 420s online for sale. You just have to hunt for them ... I paid $250 for our DB-420B.

They are fine. That¡¯s just some leftover residue from washing off the chemical treatment of the aluminum.

Re: Looking for advice on antenna placement for our radio club repeaters.
You would be better off finding an old 450-470 db loop style db408 for the GMRS machine. Most two way radio shops have them laying around fakes down from commercial sites. I picked up 3 of them for

Re: Looking for advice on antenna placement for our radio club repeaters.
712EFC is not a repeater antenna. It's a base antenna not made for duplex operation. It has braided copper coax inside. That's why Comet calls them base antennas. You will find the issue as duplex
