Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Hi, I will hang onto that TPL amp at this point. I was trying to find
another amp, but I am trading apples for apples at this point.
Will take advice and keep the TPL. Thanks for your interest.

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
You guys convinced me to keep the TPL, so it is going to be put in service with the TK851.
Some things I have never tried before make me nervous to try, sounds like I have gotten

Re: UHF Repeater Input Frequency Issues
The only problem not terminating a divider is causing some amplitude ripple in the passband. It wont hurt the associated amplifier. If the preamp was working it could improve the system noise figure

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
The PA6-1AE should be adjustable to and stable at 70w. I second that the
TKR-851 will adequately provide a stable low drive output appropriate for
your amplifier.

Re: UHF Repeater Input Frequency Issues
We've figured out that the desensing was caused by the duplexer being out of alignment.
This pictured preamp died in a storm last night causing further issues.? That being said, you're absolutely

Re: Where did db Products go?
According to a gentleman at the dB Spectra booth at IWCE, it was not them
and they are of no relation.

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
That's only 1.55dB less than 100w, toss another isolator or filter in line with a lossy jumper and keep the amp.

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
I am keeping second guessing myself on this. Not sure if I can run 100W for
my coordination so trying to get the amp down to at least 70W out.

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Really a shame.
The TKR-851 will have ZERO issues running at 3 watts to drive that amp.

Re: UHF Repeater Input Frequency Issues
Shouldn't the unused ports be terminated with 50 ohms if that is a 50 ohm system ?
I have not followed the thread all the way but does it have any desense when feeding a dummy load ?
