Re: 147.06
ugh...that's as bad as the guy that used to use phonetics...he got banned from just about every repeater and club in nearly 100 miles...I'm sure he got in trouble with 'the man' too...interfering with emergency nets in progress was a big one too.

Mtr2000 wireline
I'm trying to figure out why our mtr2000 isn't passing any audio. We're using an external repeater controller through the wireline connector. This is new to us, and we're trying to get things set up before we go to the site. Before I try too hard and break something... Is that 4 pin connector (J6) supposed to come off? How do I release the wires? I tried pushing into one of the small holes, figuring that would release a clamp. The wires aren't budging. Thanks. Don |

Re: Attempting to program a Maxon SM2150. Looking for proper prog cable. Have software.
Thanks Max.
Too involved for me. I thought I could find am SMP2000 prog. cable and program thru the mike jack. (I have no info on the D shell 15 pin connector on rear of radio above power cable. inlet. No info at all on the 15 pin connector.
I'm going to look for some Icom F-121 radios and shelve the Maxon SM-2150's.

Re: MTR2000 channel steering
I've never done it with the MTR 2000 but I suspect it would be channel steering using the GPIOs via wildcard programming.. I've only stuck an MTR 2000 on only one frequency ? On Sat, Apr 5, 2025, 4:31 PM john ni0k via <jasimmons=[email protected]> wrote:

That doesn't sound right: I remember reading through some old CoFeTel (former Mexican FCC) documents & seeing all the amateur repeater pairs available in Mexico.? But I can't put any other radios on that pair that have a path into the tropo ducts else their input RXs see all the TXs for a good portion of the year, making them unusable. Bob NO6B |

Sorry to hear about the coordination problems out there. Being in SoCal I'm sitting here trying to figure out the particulars of the above,... and can't because this sort of thing is happening in too many places :( Bob NO6B |
MTR2000 channel steering
开云体育I'm trying to figure this out. The Moto lit says up to 32 channels and the Wildcard tables show the 96-pin connector GPIOs, but... I don't understand the programming UI. First, is binary channel steering possible without optional cards? Second, does anyone
have any explanation of how to do this, perhaps with screenshots? Yes, I can jig up a radio and play, but I'd prefer not to reinvent fire.

Re: 220Mhz ACSB amplifier
Interesting subject and? Mike will 6M open to Oregon this year?
I evaluated a Linear Modulation Tech PA, w/ 24Vdc it took a +8dBm input to deliver 100W CW.
I considered using one for my ACSB repeater (yeah, really!)
I built a 2 channel combiner for it (pic attached). I combined 2 systems successfully, the short cavities are special design for a bit broader tuning for ACSB (thanks Wacom!)?
I was testing them into a commercial 200W PA made for a military application (all mode) then I accidentally switched it open circuit for a few millisecs (long story) and it went into oscillation and blew a transistor so the project was put on hold.
I intend to repair it or replace it with an ESP1100 PA.??
?
I believe James KB0HNX is using a Securicor PA for their 220 FM rptr in Nixa MO. He frequents the forum and might add how they are cooling it.?

Yeah Repeater wars it was before I got licensed but the legacy of it still lives San Diego has had many problems with co-existing with repeaters up north, I used to get were the original repeater and we have rights to the frequency, Recently to all that don't know MEXICO has been putting up Business repeaters on the 440-450 section of the band and they can really wipe out some of the US 440 ham repeaters, then the experimental use of the 220 band the spectrum we use is being encroached KD6GNB On Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 09:22:45 AM PDT, Chuck Kelsey via groups.io <wb2edv@...> wrote: Creative for sure. It may be worth a look to the SPC-4000 or SM-4000 cable.? I have a similar GE version of this radio, sm-4150.? Radio is programmed with a serial cable connecting to a six pin connector on the radios board, revealed by taking off the covers. Benjamin, KB9LFZ? Re: 220Mhz ACSB amplifier
All 220 Linear amps should work great on 220 FM without any mods except maybe the addition of a small fan but even the fan isn't really required.
?
?I had several Morrow electronics/UPS Aviation Technology/Garmin Aviation Technology 50 watt 220 MHz Linear amps from the days when they stole the lower half of the 220 ham band and they all work just fine on 220 FM for my remote base and as mobile amps without any mods at all.
?
I added a small fan but even without the fan I haven't killed any yet but for me it was a psychological thing just knowing that the transistor junction temp was always going to be below the data book max.? even if stuck in tx for an hour.
?
My amps are all around 50 watts out each and with a home brew wilkinson? combiner I have? around 90 watts going to the antenna. |

As the rf path between the two was mostly over water, they heard my repeater quite well but theirs wasn't so loud up in the South Bay area. So...they set up a TX that sent CW every 10 minutes. It took me a while to decipher its message but here's what was sent: _...? _ _? .? _._? ._._? _.. ._.. Quite clever actually. Anyway, the SCRA re coordinated me to the first "tertiary split" in SoCal - 146.745 in., 146.145 out. And there is stayed until I left for Maui in 1989.
