But not sure about the crackle. I tried it here and didn't notice any noise on RX. Give me a call later on tomorrow, since leaving soon. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Butch-tiny puppy via groups.io Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2025 2:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [repeater-builder] trying to read data on a kenwood 851 repeater The repeater has a noise on receive like bacon frying. Not sure what is causing that. I can give you a call if you want to listen to it. kind of a crackling noise. I haven't tried adjusting anything yet, but sensativity is poor even on the 151.1875 frequency. Hopefully my little laptop comes by Wednesday because tentatively planning on going back to the site in portage on Thursday to visit the lady Buggs, well OK not really, but putting up the Lincoln tenor for the repeaters and figuring out what is going on with my DNC. I turned it on and it gives me a little Gibberish character, but then I turn it off and back on again and then it works. Might have to just flush the whole TNC and start over. Would like it just to power up and work because if there's a power failure and that TNC comes back on then it won't power up correctly and I'm 70+ miles away from the site with no transportation.
