Magic Jack is a VOIP ATA that uses a PC for the processing...the MJ is an external dongle
that provides the analog output to a RJ11...it is not a standalone ATA iirc..one local radio
station used it for remote control dial up to a Burk...worked 50% of the time?

Yeah, that’s what my experience was like when MJ first came out.? It was free, so my expectations were pretty low going in.? Nowadays, for $1 a month for a number and less than half a cent per minute, get a SIP trunk.? Perfectly serviceable ATA’s (Linksys, Obihai, et al) are around $20 on eBay.
