Obit of Rhonda Benton Rabb (SC)

Rhonda Benton Rabb passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the age of 59 years young.

Rhonda was born in Darlington County. She is the daughter of C.E. and Karen Benton. She was a graduate of West Florence High School and Florence Darlington Technical College. She was a Registered Nurse at McLeod Regional Medical Center where she worked over 20 years prior to her retirement.

Rhonda was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved fiercely and showed endless compassion to all she came into contact with. She was always at the ready to care for loved ones and strangers alike. She was patient and showed kindness in all she did. She loved her family. Her daughter Britany describes Rhonda as her ¡°very best friend¡±. She was affectionately known as ¡°Gimmie¡± to her grandchildren Kevin, Jr., Tyler, Liam, Isabella, Aidan and Gavin. She loved to travel. She and her husband, Jim, spent many days in the mountains and at the beach. She loved music. She appreciated a wide variety of music, but she was partial to the music of years gone by. She was an artist. She loved to draw. She especially loved drawing portraits of loved ones. It was one of her God given abilities, as she was completely self taught. She was a free spirit with a soul that radiated love, light, and beauty. All that were blessed enough to have known her truly felt the peace and warmth she exuded. She loved her dog, River. He was one of the joys of her life and was not a pet, but a child to her.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Rabb; her parents, C.E. and Karen Benton; her daughter Britany Verikas and husband Kevin, daughter Ashley Morales Onate, and her son, David Martin, Jr.; her sister, Roxane Holbrooks and husband Chip; as well as her grandchildren as prior mentioned.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
