Gladys Rabb Bilbrey

Gastonia - Gladys Dishmon Rabb Bilbrey, 93, passed away on June 24, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Morganton, NC on August 4, 1927 and a native to Granite Falls, NC. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Esther Alexander Dishmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Cecil Rabb and by her 2nd husband, Everis Bilbrey; her son, Randall Keith Rabb and granddaughter, Courtney Rabb; and her siblings, Clara Masters, Adam and Walt Dishmon.

Gladys was a kind and caring soul who loved her family and the Lord. She was a very active and faithful member at South Gastonia Church of God. She was a former teacher of the Senior Adult Bible Class; her lessons were taped and often sent to shut-ins and to prisons as a ministry to reach others. She also taught a Young Married Sunday School Class for a long period of time at Gaston Avenue Church of God. Gladys was faithful to visit nursing homes and put on yard sales to raise money for various missions. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed!

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Bloomer (Clayborn) of Stanley; sons, Harold Rabb (Gail) of Asheboro and Wesley Rabb of Gastonia; grandchildren, Kim Pendelton and Dana Rabb Saunders (Ben) of Asheboro; Neil Rabb (Meaghan) of Asheboro; and Laura and Randall Rabb of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Brooke Pendleton, Kayla, Garrett, Kinsley Saunders; and Chase and Max Rabb; sister, Hazel Dishmon of Granite Falls, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 27th at South Gastonia Church of God, 310 Carolina Avenue, Gastonia with Reverend Bobby Gilley officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Mausoleum of Peace.
