Re: Michigan Mighty Mite

Hi Casey,

Coincidentally, I collect vintage transistors and have a couple of CK722s and lots of pinched tops from the 1950s.? As a child of the 1960s, I grew up in the discrete component transistor days and have never really gotten comfortable with integrated circuits.? Amongst the transistors in my collection are these 2N1143 transistors.? Two of these type were used in the beacon transmitter attached to the Echo 1 satellite from 1960.? I found the schematic of the beacon in an issue of 1961 RCA Review.? So one pile of parts on my workbench will be my attempt to recreate that beacon using two of my collection.??

Re: Michigan Mighty Mite

A terminal strip - very old school. Using an analog meter to test it is karmically correct. Very nice build, not ugly at all.

FDIM Update

开云体育

I have updated the registration list as of 2/15/25. Also we need to remind everyone that the block of rooms we had reserved for FDIM have sold out.? If you want to stay at the Fairborn Holdiay Inn (FDIM Central) you can call them periodically and see if they have had any cancellations.? Also a reminder, if you are participating in the TTL Transmitter Challenge, and need a kit, contact Rex Harper on the website to get yours ordered.? While there, be sure to check out all the cool kits Rex has available now.? FDIM is T minus 90 days and counting down!

Many thanks to our prize sponsors!

Also while at FDIM, why not take a few pictures and write a few lines about your experience and send it off to Mike Malone KD5KXF so he can include your write up in the July QRP Quarterly?

Just received word from the Holiday Inn that our block of rooms has sold out.?
We recommend that anyone wishing to stay at the Holiday in for FDIM to check
with them periodically in the chance there may be a cancellation that might free up a room.
