Because it is much easier and more convenient for the user to make this change to the single application than to the entire operating system. Whatever the reasons are.

I would like to ask, why do you use UK settings?
It's not my goal to have QLog set up for everything. This leads to an
explosion setting dialog. If QLog has information about the settings from

Yes I run my win10 in UK language, but it would be nice if it could be set
up in Qlog to use km or miles.... somewhere in the config area

The units are controlled by OS settings under Windows OS (Language and
Country setting). If you have one of the following option then you will
have "miles"
English && United States
Spanish && United

it seems that you did not use the "Anvalina HF" TCI profile. You got a
connection error that is from Hamlib. It means that you used a profile that
had the Hamlib Interface
