Doc was fairly consistant except for a?30 minute period where the band seemed empty. Funny how it just?tanked for that period and then he was back to S-9. I heard N9NE and a TX station in the pack for John but never did hear him out here in WA.?

twas a piss-poor night to be a fox or a hound :(

Damn LL, when are you gonna give me a night with some propagation?!

Re: Ugly Night so far

Hey Gang,

Fairly ugly night here, too. Due to other commitments,
I don't get home until 30 to 45 minutes into the hunt.
45 minutes tonight. Found Doc pretty quickly. Also,
found John as well, but he was at ESP level. Way too
close, I'm afraid. A couple of times I could actually
hear the call, W1RT. However, no sense in calling when
I wouldn't have even known if he'd come back to me!

Well, onefer is better than last week!

Sure do miss the sunspots. We used to have short skip
available at this time of night. And, the other side
of the country still came in, too!

Re: Ugly Night at an End

n9ne_todd

Got Doc, K0EVZ, fairly early on here from eastern WI before he faded
away. Never heard John, W1RT, until 20 minutes were left. I found him
with the 2 elements at 65' pointed at him and the K2's AGC off with
the narrowest filter and audio filter on. He was at about the noise
level. I heard several hounds call him, including W2MY in TX and
WA9TZE downstate from me, but no one had any luck. The band seemed to
be quite noisey here. No shooting fish in a barrel tonite!

QSB. He was at ESP within 10 min. of settling on his spot. He'd

Ugly indeed. Heard Doc for a millisecond and that was it. Heard one hound in the mud but after that nothing into North California.

All of the sudden at 0305 UTC Doc came booming into Indiana. He is 20

Hi Gary, you called it right. I too am hearing QSO's between the East and West coast based on call sign but that is not certain. But I don't hear any weak signals. Those I hear are real loud. So after an hour of hearing no Fox or any hounds except those calling Doc, I'm about to call it a night. At least I think I got Doc.

Re: W1RT fox for 11/10

Hi Todd, well band conditions must be the pits! If you just hear him 229 then I might not hear him at all this much further out. That can be a problem. I just squeaked a contact I think with the other Fox Doc early on. But signals were so lousy not sure he got my numbers. Will find out later as he is fully gone now. I will let the band settle and look again 7.030 to 7.050 MHz.

Thanks for the info
