Off to a good start
Bill Harris
Band took a dip at 15. Thought it was over for the evening. Came back and nailed ET at 31. The next fox was 2800+ mile hop and I lied when I gave LL a 559. It was more like a 229. (I've got to reprogram the keyer.) LL asked for a confirmation on the call....Boy, I hope I confirmed the right one. Sounded like KXB...We'll see!
The band was quite in the PacNW and it made for a good hunt. C U Tues. on 8T Carry_on BillHarris_w7kxb |

While it's true we don't need QRP-L there are still a lot of Hounds that are not here. If we don't tell them it's happening they will not show up.

Re: QRP-L dead?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýKarl,
?
That is strange(that you didn't see anything about
the fox hunt tonight on qrp-l.? I saw both Lloyd's and ET's
announcements---in fact, Lloyd forwarded ET's announcement to this list or I
guess it wouldn't have shown here.
?
I guess you must not be getting al the qrp-l
post.? I do the digest and saw them both.

Winter schedule
Just FYI, avid Fox Fans, the schedule for this Season is still being
worked on. Almost there, but we're making an extra effort to try to ensure a distribution of Foxii from as many parts of the continent as we can. Please feel free to visit the site and submit a Fox Application, if you'd like to try being on the other end of things! Look for the completed schedule next week... LL/K3ESE |
Looking forward to tonight
Looking forward to the Hunt tonight with my fingers crossed. I've been having a bunch of local QRN for the past few weeks on 40 Meters at night. I think it's something local, maybe a transformer on a phone pole or something. It goes away when it's raining and reappears when it's reasonably dry outside. In any event, it's been hampering my reception of signals on 40 Meters. With any luck I'll be a very happy hound tonight - I'm hoping I'm not looking to a whole season of QRN. This is a major reason why I did not jump on the chance to join a team that had vacancies.

Happily, 80 Meters has been clean as a whistle. So if the situation is a worst case scenario, at least I'll have the 80 Meter hunts to fall back on. 73 de Larry W2LJ -- Makos327@... -------------- Original message ----------------------

Fox need to know
karl larsen
I thought I signed up to be a Fox this winter on 40 meters as usual. I used the new thing on the web page which said it was recorded and I have since heard nothing. I think the Committee should at least let everyone who thinks they are a Fox receive an email saying yes your a Fox or no your not and about when you will be called on first.
I like to know a week in advance so I can get my message to QRP-L in time. Also I have some learning to do with my new radio. It has 3 CW memory slots and I need to put some stuff in and see how it works. 73 Karl K5DI |
Fox Tomorrow Night!
What Marshall said:
Yes, it's that time of year and the 40M Fox Hunt kicks off tomorow eveing at 0100Z. That should be 9PM Eastern (8pm CDT, 7pm MDT, 6pm PDT etc). I will be one of yer Foxes, operating as ET from the high plains of Colorado. The other Fox will be Lloyd the Barber operating as LL from MD. Odds are real good you'll be able to hear at least one of us, so please do get on the air and take a crack at it. It's going to be a lot of fun, and I have a pelt with your name on it, just waiting for your call. More details than you really need can be found on the web site at http:/www.qrpfoxhunt.org.
