Well, not looking good from this end tonight, the band is very quiet.
Not a FOX heard yet at 31 mintes after the hour, however I could hear Lloyd K3ESE and K8WDN
calling for the all but too silent FOX here.

I have the honor of being tomorrow evening's quarry for the 40M QRP
Fox Hunt, and I look forward to enpelting as many of you as possible.
Conditions couldn't possibly be worse than my last fox outing :)

You'll find me somewhere 'tween 7030 and 7050 promptly at 0200Z,
working split as usual. I'll probably be running the TS-940SAT cranked
down to 5W (where it usually is), and the new improved Big-Ass-Loop
(now in the 450' range and a touch higher than before).

Many tks for that post Doc.? Many of us have just given up attempting

to work FOXii that are located in surrounding States (being just too

close for long skip propagation conditions).? It definitely is a hard

nut to crack.? I think your suggestion is the correct one .. keep

monitoring the frequency for that "quick burst" from the FOX.? I know

it's boring just listening to noise for a long period of time.? However,

if you wish to be successful, this must be done.

Here's my question Doc.? Chuck and others agree that this propagation

oddity does occur on rare occasions.? What we're not being told is ...

what allows it to happen???? This curiosity is driving me nuts.? HI

I believe aircraft being in the right place can briefly reflect a VHF

signal (burst) on occasion but our focus is what happens on HF.

Interesting question eh?? Take care my friend.
