I agree with you Michael that I personally would always use wooden sleepers made to fit the plan, however I believe that many would want an easier route, hence my suggestion.

George and John have expressed a desire for sleeper bases to be 3D printed or laser cut from wood. Personally, I think the best solution for an individual modeller is to print out the plans full size,
