开云体育All for it, but taking a quick look?I'm surprised to find a feature on groups.io called 'github'. Enough said. David H From: O14@... <O14@...> on behalf of jclutterbuck2001@... [O14] <O14@...>

There seems to be an overwhelming support for moving over. Although there are supposedly over 350 members many of these will be inactive or old email addresses. Other groups have reported similar stats so we probably have more like 60-80 real members. What I do know is that we have had 30 votes for a move, 2 have unsubscribed (probably no longer interested) and no-one has said we should stay. So I am going to initiate the transfer process - which is basically to submit a request to groups.io who will do the migration.
Please watch this space - and your email for sign up messages. Once we have transferred I will stop the ability to post on this group and all discussion will take place there.
See you all over there soon.

Re: Moving to Groups.io
I think that I’ve voted but yahoo is now so bad I don’t know! ?Please change to io. I tend to read posts in email but Post via the web. Yahoo was fine until dreadful ‘upgrade’ a few years ago and has never been any good since. My niece has worked for Verizon in Pittsburg for years and just been made redundant as her work is transferred to the Far East. They now own yahoo. Definitely time to switch. Paul H?

As some of you will know there have been many problems with Yahoo Groups over the last few years. In the last few months many Yahoo groups have transferred over to Groups.io which provides a modern web interface as well as email posting and delivery. The transfer process is largely automatic and will take all the posts, files and membership details over. There will be little impact for members apart from a new email address for the group - members may need to setup a password to use the web interface.? Here is an example of a group that recently swapped over: - the old Yahoo group remains but the ability to submit posts has been stopped - we would do the same. The moderators can initiate the transfer but we would like the opinion of you as group members. Please vote in the poll - and also whether you primarily use web or email to read and send posts. Thanks? John, Mark, Roy and Steve |

John et all I support the move too, I usually catch up via the web. Go for it!! Regards, Cliff C

As the owner of Exmoor-NG, I would heartily recommend transferring. Our transfer was completed in just a few hours, and there were almost no issues. A few members - perhaps due to changing email addresses, or the vagaries of Yahoo - didn't transfer, and one database was only partially transferred, but generally the process was very smooth and pain-free.? We are also planning to move the L&B-centric modelling group - ?- within the next few weeks.?

Re: 014 & 7mm NGA at Burton
开云体育Good morning all, My layout " Marl end", has been invited. Although it's only 1ft x 4ft, I have booked a 6ft x 2ft table, but I have said that as long as I can get round it I'll be okay.? There's nothing like a deadline to give modelling a boost, as I'm still laying track. Ralph. On 25 Feb 2018, at 22:34, David Rae davidcrae@... [O14] <O14@...> wrote:

Re: 014 & 7mm NGA at Burton
Good evening, 'Bunny Mine' has been invited and I aim to have it relatively complete by then. I'm pleased that by having it on the modest '014 table' at Mickleover, with support from the ang community, that we have had a welcome reception from the 7mm NGA with several layouts invited to Burton. May I suggest this is a great opportunity to present 014 as an attractive gauge for new entrants, with trade support from EDM and Mark Clark for example? Also, let's keep this going in future years, as already seems indicated for 2019. David?

Re: 014 & 7mm NGA at Burton
Hi Phil
I agree it all needs to be agreed with the organisers. However, we are being invited individually so I'm just trying to understand who amongst us has got an invitation, and making sure we are a bit coordinated.

Re: 014 & 7mm NGA at Burton
Fret not, Phil. This has all been done ( I hope) via Neil Blair with official invitations and returns. If any of the 014 bunch are going with demo stuff without clearance from Neil as Phil fears, then they need to get in touch with him first. I have asked for a 6’ table, so will have space for a few extra models in addition to my own if anyone wants to contact me directly, but anything more than that must go via Neil. I do hope he plans putting us all together??

Re: 014 & 7mm NGA at Burton
开云体育Gents, just a thought.
I hope you will all excuse me for appearing anti, which I am definitely
not, but before you all turn up with lots to show it might be a good idea to
ascertain just how much space you are likely to need and make sure that the
organizers are aware of this.
I am sure that Tim and Neil will be pleased that they have so many
potential exhibits, but I’m sure you will all realise that the halls are a
finite size and space has to be allocated some time in advance to make the best
use of it.??

Thanks to David there now seems to be some momentum to the planned O14 presence at the 7mmNGA in June and I know some of us are getting formal invites (I declined doing a trade stand as NG&I). ?
I plan to take my quarry board which is about 4ft x 2.5ft and has a self
contained industrial layout and the surrounding loop which bigger locos can
trundle back and forth. I could probably fit it on the end of a table (or on a
side table as an L) with other stuff to demonstrate/natter about.
?
Paul H said he can bring some FR/WHR stuff - so he could share my table and
I'm sure David H will accompany me too.
?
Who else is definitely going?
