Using OOn3 wheels from Dundas Models

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have finally ?added my own item to the wiki ¡®Resources¡¯! This is on the recently introduced 8mm metal wheels from Dundas Models.

?

?

The OOn3 12mm gauge wheels come on 20mm long, 1.5mm diameter axles which match those in my Roy C Link wagon kits.? The wheel tread is thinner but a re-gauged pair fitted to a skip chassis seems to go through my track okay (although I have not tried shunting under power yet ¨C still working on the scenery).

?

The pair I have run true and didn¡¯t take too much effort to push out on the axle.

?

My main reason for looking into these is because I need a source of wheels to go into a diesel chassis designed for 2mm diameter axles, but I can sleeve the 1.5mm axles through the bearings and gear.

?

They should also be okay for the front bogie on my WDLR Baldwin project.

?

I have to admit that I have struggled with the KB Scale loco wheels as I don¡¯t have a wheel press and I am too ham fisted to get them to go on true or concentric, so an apparently fool-proof alternative is very welcome.

?

Dundas Models also do 9mm wheels to 12mm gauge, which again opens up more possibilities.

?

Cheers,

?

Robin
