Re: How to connect?

Hi – update … got it to work … my mistake was that I tried to connect / disconnect while still being in Channel 0 … switched to channel 1 and was able to connect to N0HI-7 right away…. Nice!!

Thanks so much and 73

Hi Dave,

?

Thank you for the reply!

TNC lights – power light is on (red), GPS fix light is on (green), KISS/Conn light is off (so I’m not in KISS mode, and it’s not connected to anyone), PTT light goes red when transmitting, otherwise off.

?

Yes, there is TX going out … using an IC-7700, TNC connected via the ACC socket in the back.? That connections works since I can successfully use the TNC in RPR mode to send out APRS signals (and I see myself on aprs.fi then).??

?

In HF packet mode, there’s no PTT or HF going out when I just issue a connect command though (ESC C callsign).? Anything I type after that is sent to the callsign I used in the connect command though.

Then RF is going out (right now about 80 Watts as I kept the TX audio pretty low) and I can hear the outgoing signal in monitor mode on the transceiver speaker ….

?

Somehow also when I try a disconnect command “ESC D” ?it says “invalid command: D” … which is weird??? Somehow seems like connect C and Disconnect commands aren’t working right?

?

Thanks again

Tom KI5BLU

Putty is good, but try cool term. I use it for VHF and HF easy to set up. Have fun.

Easyterm's "Alert the Sysop"

Hi all,
?
Does anyone know how the "Alert the Sysop" function in UZ7HO's Easyterm works? ? It doesn't send an audio alert to the default system soundcard and it doesn't bring up a text alert.? Thanks, 73.

Re: Net 30 (or 30M Packet)

Hi Chris,
Firstly, I'm surprised to find this topic here in this group.
Secondly, I should have provided the link to APRSThursday - here it is...

The "net" is a check-in that is held every Thursday from 0000Z to 2359Z. There's usually about 400 of us that check in from around the world.

I've played around with WinRPR too but found that PinPoint works great with UZ7HO's SoundModem.

Re: Net 30 (or 30M Packet)

Yes 10.147.30 USB is used for RP APRS, and above that a little is HFP aprs as mentioned in last email.

We used to hang out from time to time around 10.144 LSB for general use ie, keybd/BBS.

Leo,
I'm more familiar with VHF APRS, so forgive me. Never done HF APRS.

I just got a Teensy for RPR. Is this the mode for Thursday night or a different setup?

Also, what time? (UTC)

I use 10.147.6 dial frequency USB, centred on 1700 Hz, on Thursdays to check into the APRSThursday net using PinPoint and Soundmodem. You can also use this configuration for sending an APRS position beacon.

Re: Net 30 (or 30M Packet)

Hi Kevin. If I recall, 10.1473 USB is the Robust Packet Network. So, what is the club call? I'll try to monitor/connect.

Re: Net 30 (or 30M Packet)

I haven't actively monitored on 30m in a hot minute, but I know my club maintains an igate on 10.1473 USB.
