Is this NanoVNA faulty with the menu shown like this?
Not an issue - you pressed the Scale button and you need to enter a new scale reference then click ENT
Press the <- key to return to the main display. It's normal for the keyboard to cover part of the menu on the 2.8 inch unit - this has been discussed many times in the past 3 years of this forum. Enjoy your nanoVNA |
Hello,
Yes, you are missing the "back" button on the menu. You did not say which "certain occasions" it happens on. You need to state that also. But definitely there is a problem. I could not repeat your problem in any conditions I tried. I would try reloading the FW to see if something went wrong with it. Clyde KC7BJE |
Oops, I reacted too quickly. Yes, the bottom right menu item is obscured
by the keyboard on the 2.8" devices. That is by design, and to access the obscured items you make an entry on the keyboard or dismiss it using the back-arrow or return key. On Tue, Feb 7, 2023 at 11:46 AM Stan Dye via groups.io <standye= [email protected]> wrote:

It happens in certain selections in the menu. I cannot recall which selection it was now.
I will make note of that, and update here next time when it happens. But it sounds like it is not some serious hardware or software fault of the device, which is relieving. Thank you for your info and advice. 73s. |
Please grab a copy of: The Absolute Beginners Guide to the NanoVNA - It's in the files section of this forum.
/g/nanovna-users/files/Absolute%20Beginner%20Guide%20to%20The%20NanoVNA/Absolute_Beginner_Guide_NanoVNA_v1_6.pdf Refer to page 20. NOTE: The images were taken from the H4 NanoVNA that has a 4 inch display - you have a 2.8 inch display and the menu keys are partially blocked when the keyboard is showing. You will only see the G/M/K buttons when you're adjusting some frequency parameter, time buttons in nanoseconds if adjusting delay time, a % button for velocity factor, or no unit buttons for Scale or Reference as dB is implied (as on page 20, above). Again, grab some discrete parts, build an SMA to alligator clip cable and play with the various operation modes of the NanoVNA. If you screw things up, just reset, cal and start over. REMEMBER - this device will only take miliwatts of power on the input ports so don't try to measure any active circuits! ...Larry |
