The #radioscout channel on the scoutlink network is the right place to do all this.

You can use this link (if you don't find "Radio Scout" in the list, click on "English" and then run the command /join #radioscout in the box you use to write normally).

Bye

NA1WJ 2019 Final Report

The NA1WJ amateur radio operation at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve in West Virginia was a success. Here are the final numbers.

The final report provides further insight into what was accomplished, who made it happen, what worked, and what didn¡¯t. Overall it was a great event but as always there is room for improvement. Click on this link??

Edited

The WSJ 2019 is almost finished, but you can all fill out the following form at the link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1df4lFXZgi2NR_Qzlxmh6WpZkzkxhL562w-iSxACGnVo/edit#gid=0

We will give each other the appointment of the Jota-Joti 2019 (and not only that, maybe we can all hear each other for some radio activity with our boys).

Greetings to all from IU8GAE (kaa_it on the Scoutlink network Radio Scout channel, link http://webchat.scoutlink.net), 73

William, I¡¯m at work now but will watch rbn for cw activity this evening. Or maybe tomorrow before 3z CWT.?

Gary, I totally understand it¡¯s for the scouts first. I¡¯d be happy to qrs with any scout for their first cw QSO.

More cw is better, imo. ?

Many thanks to everyone helping out at the Summit. Many more of us wish we could be there too!

Re: CW on 20 or 40?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

We already have done some CW, but remember, the primary purpose of the stations is to help Scouts make their first QSO, and most of them do not know code.?

So CW occurs when the rare combination of no Scouts in the station and one of our half dozen or CW Operators have nothing else to do occurs.?

The good news for us is that we¡¯ve had a steady stream of Scouts to introduce to Amateur Radio. The bad news from that is that CW Ops are thus going to be limited.?

Re: Self spotting

Good evening Gary,
Just about to go to our club shack to listen for NA1WJ on 14 MHz. I shall try 14.170 and use the cluster. (14.290 was in use last evening by a stateside relay net, with whom I had a QSO.)
We also managed plenty of central and south american stations during the IOTA contest, but did not hear too many W stations.
I shall use our GB0FFS call this evening.

Re: SCOTTISH SCOUT PARTICIPATION IN WSJ

We plan to activate GB0FFS from Fordell Firs later this evening. We shall be on 14MHz, checking 14.290 and keeping an eye on the cluster from 2100 hrs UT onward.
I shall not have access to this groups.io blog from the operating position but will be able to access to check for any spots.

Bill: I¡¯ve been spotting NA1WJ here from the site using my home call as the spotter on the DX Cluster.?

I see 40 spots for NA1WJ there in the past 3 days.?

But use the Cluster to follow us

We haven't had many issues with getting someone to answer CQ's on the first try.? When things have grown silent, I've seen several members on the team spotting.? Always check RBN and PSKReporter as well.
