I'll have complete information in a follow-up post when we get some more traction in the group with specifics.? I'll also be looking for a coordinator that will be off-site for the event to keep the flow of activity going here and on the air during the event. Kevin,
We are watching for your IST application in the staff recruiting system. It's not there yet as most National Scouting Organizations, including Malaysia, have not yet submitted their lists of IST. The update this morning is that only 18 countries out of 160 have provided their IST lists.? So please be patient. We will definitely do all we can to sign you up for the amateur radio operation, NA1WJ. 73, Jim Wilson, K5ND Team Leader, NA1WJ |

Hi Moriya,
As I replyed to Kevin, we do not yet have the listing of IST from Japan -- and many more countries as well. That's the first step in selected IST and issuing position offers. As soon as I see anything here, I will issue the offer and let you know directly. Thanks for offering to serve on IST at the amateur radio operation, NA1WJ. 73, Jim Wilson, K5ND Team Leader, NA1WJ |

Gary Wilson
Hello and Welcome! I'm Gary Wilson, K2GW. ? I served on the Amateur Radio Staff at the Summit in 2017 and will again at the WSJ in 2019. ? One thing we'd like all hams visiting the Summit (whether on the Amateur Radio staff or not) to bring is an HT, ideally 2m/440.? We blessed (thanks to Icom and AT&T!) with three permanent Amateur Radio repeaters on the property.? We use these for Amateur Radio demos when HF propagation fails, for nightly nets between the subcamps, for any emergencies, and for fun. While we'll try to provide programming help at NA1WJ, it would be helpful if you program your HT with the Summit repeater frequencies before leaving home.? The Summit repeater frequencies are listed below and more info can be found at ?? 73 Gary Wilson, K2GW ? Summit Repeater Frequencies?
? There is also a nearby DMR repeater on?443.875 + cc1 located on Lick Knob off of exit 60 on I-77. It covers from Charleston to The Summit. It's connected to MARC. |

Hi to all. I'm Ronan PY2RAR from Brazil. I'll be giving my support to your contacts during World Scout Jamboree in USA in all bands, phone, digital and also Echolink. I guess we'll have some Brazilians taking part of the station team, so I'll try to help them to contact their Country. I'm also on your disposition.?

Just an update...
Hello everyone! Robert, PC5E, over in the NA1WJ staff rocketchat asked?how is sharing the NA1WJ QSO group planned? Do team members need to make it known locally/nationally or will the media team do this somehow? We intend to grow this group organically over the next several months, this means we need you all to participate in getting your fellow hams involved in being the seeds that help us stay on the air and get the scouts at the World Jamboree a positive experience on the bands as they visit the station.? ?As more information that is relevant to those wanting to help from their homes and club stations, I will share that here.? As well, I'll be looking for one of members here as a coordinator for this, because as the event approaches nearer, my time will be consumed with making the on-site operation a success. Feel free to help spread the word through club meetings, word of?mouth, twitter, facebook, etc.? If you are not following?@NA1WJ_Scouting on Twitter, please do that as well. 73 de NE4RD Bill |

T-minus 8 months
The countdown is on, and we're not really that far away.? We need to continue to grow this list so we can build our off-site volunteer base for the success of the World Jamboree Amateur Radio Operations.? ?Over the next few months I'm going to be putting together all the tools that we'll be using to get out the word of where we are and when we are on the bands.? Using this mail list will also allow us to convey in longer format what's going on as we lead up to the event and daily as we operate the event.? Please share this group with amateurs in your area that will also be willing to be on the other end of the radio for the scouts from all over the world that will be participating in the event next year.? Thank you again for joining us here.? 73 de NE4RD Bill PS - This is not an email list for official International Support Team (IST) information for the World Scout Jamboree 2019. |

SCOTTISH SCOUT PARTICIPATION IN WSJ
I am Malcolm, GM3TAL, a member of the Kingdom Amateur Radio Society which is based at the Scout Adventures campsite, Fordell Firs in IO86 square. Our club will be on HF bands and Internet modes during the Jamboree. We also plan to be on the air "after hours". We should have a special call for the event which I shall post here when we have received confirmation from our licencing authority. All our radio club members are part of the local Scout Active Support Team and several of us have other leadership roles in Scouting. We are all looking forward to making contact with the NA1WJ station and facilitating greetings messages between our young people.

Philmont during World Jamboree Summer 2019
Hello Scouters and Hams,
Myself and several others will be at Philmont to talk to NA1WJ during the jamboree. We will operate from the Tooth of Time Traders porch from 8AM to 5PM MT starting on July 21st (setup and testing). - We are taking a 50' crank up tower trailer and will setup behind the YURT with a Hy-Gain beam and wire antennas. - We will operate on HF SSB, PSK, DStar (Reflector 33A) and Echolink JAMBO and/or JOTA-365, FT8 - We will show, tell, and talk to all scouters, staff and visitors like we have done since 2013. - At approx., 3PM MT (5PM EST) we will swing our beam towards Dallas for comms with our Dallas and Florida and West Coast hams. - Of course, we will also be on social media and broadcast live from time to time depending on our internet at Philmont. - We will operate as K5K call and K5PSR ("Philmont Scout Ranch") - We are looking to make contact with the Northern Tier and Sea Base hams and scouts as well. I'm an RVier and I will leave Dallas on June 23, 2019 for setup at Eagle Nest, NM. I hope to install our 2m Repeater onto the ranch this year and maybe add a UHF repeater as well with our Echolink and Allstarlink nodes. Please contact me for any additional information.
