Here's the bench my wife and I built for our lathe. Simple steel tube and angle with sheet metal topped OSB. The lower shelves will just be OSB but we didn't get a chance to make them before our unexpected travel. I also want to put a bit of cross bracing on this, it sways a bit when cranking the slide a lot. Construction hint: There are angle supports under the table where the lathe is bolted down, so the wooden top is not holding up anything other than tools.
