samsung earnings - Google Search
Samsung came out with guidance on future earnings, they have many products, it’s been a tough quarter. ?Apple isn’t alone. ?? Technology giant Samsung Electronics says it is likely to see its profits for the last three months of 2023 fall by more than a third. The decline is much worse than analysts expected and comes as global demand for consumer electronics remains weak. South Korea-based Samsung is the world's largest maker of memory chips, smartphones and televisions. John

Well, I found this:?
Apparently my iPad Pro and my MacBook Pro were in close enough proximity that they connected with bluetooth on their own. However the connection was weak so I connected them to each other with a cable and now I can use my iPad as a second monitor. Life is strange/good with Apple.

Has anyone experienced this?
While I am at it, is there a way to connect the iPad to the MacBook and use the iPad as a second screen?

Re: MacBook Pro and an external ssd drive
Even thought the drive doesn’t show up on the desk top I leave it plugged in in the off chance it will correct itself (I am a dreamer). Well this morning I received an error message that I ejected the disk improperly - stranger than fiction.

I am reading “The Broker” a 2005 novel by John Grisham with this description of a top of the line cell phone.
He asked a clerk to show him the Ankyo 850 PC Pocket Smartphone, the greatest technological marvel to hit the market in the past ninety days. The clerk removed it from a display case and, with great enthusiasm, switched languages and described it as “Full QWERTY keyboard, tri-band operation on five continents, eighty megabyte built-in memory, high-speed data connectivity with EGPRS, wireless LAN access, Bluetooth wireless technology, IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack support, infrared, Pop-Port interface, Symbian operating system version 7.0S, Series 80 platform.” “Automatic switching between bands?” “Yes.” “Covered by European networks?” “Of course.”

Re: MacBook Pro and an external ssd drive
I used to fairly regularly get those (false) “improperly ejected” messages about external hard drives and other volumes on my previous Mac (a 2014 iMac). After a while I just began ignoring them. So far on my current Mac Studio I mercifully have been free of those stupid alerts. Jim
