Re: Venmo

Good info/advice John.

Harry, Venmo is quite similar to OayPal and I believe they own them these days.
Venmo does offer an option to have $ transferred to your checking account immediately but with a slight fee.

I use and like having that option.

Harry, I¡¯ve sent info to the family of the Venmo hacks, not sure anyone listens however most in the family uses ApplePay.

I send money to anyone with ApplePay, before retiring I paid staff via ApplePay, I paid the Landlord, I paid the lawn care firm with ApplePay. I pay the gal that cuts my hair the same way.

I always pay online with ApplePay if the firm offers.

As with Venmo the funds go into your Apple Wallet, you can leave it there or transfer to your bank free.

I sent to the group a few weeks ago that Visa is the largest digital payment system with 10 Trillion usage, but Apple, the new kid, is at 6 Trillion while MasterCard is at 4 Trillion. Apple is hugely used & has the big boys quite worried. I think much of that is the Security Apple provides along with our privacy.

I have Apple Pay but only use it to pay in stores and it¡¯s attached to my credit card. Can I also use it to receive and/or send cash to someone. Again I assume I would have to attach my checking account to Apple Pay.
Thanks.

Thank you Jonathan, if it¡¯s complicated for you, think what it¡¯s like for me. What is going on with this hook to draw him in is, I¡¯m sure, dishonest & going to not end well, I was trying to help but the carrot is a gorgeous little girl that has caused him to lose all sense of caution. Re: This is a scam - right?

Thanks lee. This came when I clicked on a link in FB in a group to which I belong. The Link was about Simon Cowell. And another link about Sylvester Stallone. I realized after I clicked that the posters were not members of the group as they had user names like qwijck. I reported one of them to FB.

Re: How does this happen?

I think the permission was for the TV, not Apple, The Apple TV is programmed to stay on for 5 hours after being turned on, it¡¯s off, I should have checked that first. Why someone would want to access the TV, not sure how they eve see it.

Sorry to have taken your time for thinking this was an Apple issue.
