Re: Venmo

Harry, I¡¯ve sent info to the family of the Venmo hacks, not sure anyone listens however most in the family uses ApplePay.

I send money to anyone with ApplePay, before retiring I paid staff via ApplePay, I paid the Landlord, I paid the lawn care firm with ApplePay. I pay the gal that cuts my hair the same way.

I always pay online with ApplePay if the firm offers.

As with Venmo the funds go into your Apple Wallet, you can leave it there or transfer to your bank free.

I sent to the group a few weeks ago that Visa is the largest digital payment system with 10 Trillion usage, but Apple, the new kid, is at 6 Trillion while MasterCard is at 4 Trillion. Apple is hugely used & has the big boys quite worried. I think much of that is the Security Apple provides along with our privacy.

?I have Venmo- I feel it is secure. Never been a problem. It is attached to my checking account. It¡¯s great when a family member or friend wants to pay me (or ask for money). When they pay me back (not talking about family members), it goes into the Venmo account and then you transfers back to checking acct or let it accumulate there.

I have Apple Pay but only use it to pay in stores and it¡¯s attached to my credit card. Can I also use it to receive and/or send cash to someone. Again I assume I would have to attach my checking account to Apple Pay.
Thanks.
