All: Filters are among the easiest items of use one can design and build. A good free application for filter design on your PC is the following: http://tonnesoftware.com/elsiedownload.html All of my

2SC5551 transistor availability in the US from kitsandparts.com
I mentioned this before but apparently some folks didn't read the message. https://kitsandparts.com/store2.php?? shows over 300 of the 2SC5551 in stock. Note you have to click "Place Order" to find

Re: Loops for only 10-500 KHz?
Do you really mean 10Hz, or actually mean 10kHz ? I regularly hear stuff down to 10kHz on my Tarsk active whip, and sometimes even on an LZ1AQ broadband loop. But no chance of going much lower in

Re: Loops for only 10-500 KHz?
I don't know of any broadband loop amps that only receive 10-500 kHz. One could probably build a tunable loop over that range. Folks normally use an LF low pass filter (LPF) if overloading of the

Loops for only 10-500 KHz?
I'm wondering about active, receive-only outdoor loops for 10-500 Khz... Seems to me that one way to keep powerful medium-wave (AM) broadcast from causing IM in a loop antenna amp or receiver is to

Re: OnSemi 2SC5551 availability
You can often tame a high Ft transistor by putting a small (say 10 pF) capacitor directly from the emitter to the collector. Another trick is to put a small resistor in series with the collector.

You've got it, Evertt!!! Addressing the list of tested devices on this group and according to DIGIKEY this afternoon: BFR106 is OBSOLETE BFQ18A is OBSOLETE BFR106: $ 0.49 each in 1-qty ft = 5 GHz NF =

Re: OnSemi 2SC5551 availability
I don't have to worry about either, as I have well over 1000 of the 2SC5551s and well over 400 of the 2N5109s and about 30 of it's complementary 2N5160s. When you know something is good buy a good

All this does not bode well for the 2SC5111 continued existence. It's well on its way of the 2N5109. I will search for an equivalent. Dave - W?LEV wrote: -- *Dave - W?LEV* *Just Let Darwin Work*

Sometimes semiconductor companies list a product, but do not make it - ?because the demand is too small. ?When a large order is placed, then they make the part. ?I experienced this years ago with

So, evidently, it, as well, has gone the way of the 2N5109. Any suggestions on an equivalent / replacement of current manufacture? HUNTER: Thanks for the EvilPay reference. I don't trust anything
