Hi Adrian,
Can you provide specifics about what hamlib does not support. Maybe Mike can add these if they are not already in there.

That's right, I use linux Gridtracker2 which now has autoupdate (On all
OS)? alongside HRD under bottles, and linux wsjtx. HRD provides a realiable radio interface for some radios that hamlib and other 3rd party interfaces do not, supporting rig split? etc, better without issue. For macOS I compile my own wsjtx, but have also tried windows wsjtx under crossover in MacOS with very good results. 73 vk4tux On 19/1/25 07:42, k9ao via groups.io wrote: > GridTrracker will run natively on Linux. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMany posts on this in the past. Your browser is forcing the use of ¡°HTTPS://¡° because of security certificate issue caused by your browser. ?Dave¡¯s site may be reached if you override that.KD4IZ On Jan 18, 2025, at 16:52, Harry Bloomberg, W3YJ via groups.io <hbloomb@...> wrote:

That's repeatable.? Going to the https version of the site takes one to the sundial URL.? I also receive dire warnings about the SSL certificate from Firefox. 73, Harry W3YJ On Sat, Jan 18, 2025 at 5:00?PM Peter, M0PWX via <M0PWX=[email protected]> wrote:

W1HKJ - url is redirected?
Dave (W1HKJ), having issues pulling up your site for any docs.
?
Can't tell if it's your hosting provider or Cloudflare or my ISP's DNS, but I'm getting anything to the w1hkj domain redirected to the British Sundial Society site. Anyone else seeing this? Any help to narrow it down would be good.

Re: FT8 Ops in Unix
Fred,
?
Don't blame you.? I was basically in the same boat a few months ago.? I had run my ham hobby on a windows, XP, 7, 10, and 11 machines along with lots of automation, rotor programs, contest programs, etc, etc.? I had reached the end of what I was willing to put up with on Windows and decided to make the switch.?
?
I have not tried wine bottles or crossover as just mentioned.? Perhaps that is worth a try and maybe the best of both worlds.?

Re: FT8 Ops in Unix
If you plan to stay with HRD, then why not just stay with Windows?? Setting up a Linux machine and then running your ham station in a VM on the Linux machine is not overly complicated, but, it is quite a bit more involved than just plugging a USB into a native windows machine.
?
HRD has no Linux version at the moment, though, they say they would like to do a Linux version someday.
?
WSJT-X and Gridtracker both natively run on Linux.?

Re: FT8 Ops in Unix
Not familiar with Grid Tracker.? But Fldigi and WSJT-X run well on most versions of Linux.? It would be simpler to install those natively on a Linux system.? Maybe somebody here can give you suggestions for a Linux equivalent of Grid Tracker. 73, Harry Bloomberg W3YJ On Sat, Jan 18, 2025 at 3:32?PM Fred Hollendorfer, W0SP via <phredyh=[email protected]> wrote:

FT8 Ops in Unix
I¡¯m currently using Ham Radio Deluxe, WSJT-X and Grid Tracker on my Win 10 machine. Works very well. I¡¯m considering switching to Unix. My understanding is that HRD is a Windows Ap and will not work on Unix unless used on a VM. I¡¯m guessing that I would install a VM on Unix and run all three of my FT8 programs in windows. All suggestions welcome.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýJust started - literally today - playing with Qlog. ADIF import went without a problem and rig control via hamlib, after decreasing the polling interval, works like a charm. I quite like the interface but I'm just trying work out if/how I can change the DX cluster from hamqth. Unlike you I'm using LM22 and installed the Qlog flatpak (which also installed TQSL), but I do know that Ubuntu can be configured to support flatpak pkg's. For example, see If you
don't want to use flatpak I know Qlog authors publish a PPA
which you can use to install using a deb pkg. Unlike CQRlog, Qlog uses SQLlite as a DB engine so there's no need to install MariaDB. Anyway just my two pennies worth and something that might be worth considering. As I said I've just started playing with Qlog so my current view of this logging app may change the more I use it. 73 Mark
