The Country (CTY) Files were updated on 25 March 2025:
For installation instructions, start at:

Started the PC and all is fine. That is until I started WSJTx.

Apparently the radio does not communicate with the PC. Did a reinstall of WSJT and updated as best I could but it does not work.
?
So tried JS8Call. Nothing. Same 'problem' has arisen.
?
Which is strange as FLdigi works fine. So it is not a baud rate problem. I checked all those settings is WSJT and radio. Both are fine. Hamlib is working as FLdigi would not TX. So something in an update has gone kaput!
?
Any ideas as to what may have caused this?

I have a 746pro and a 7300. The 7300 works fine.
The 746 with a Digirig mobile is not working with pwvucontrol on Mint 22.1 and pipewire audio? Recieve audio is full on all the time. Alsamixer doesn't help.?

Using two soundcards with ham radio applications
I setup a computer to try and run 2 separate radios with different soundcards but the same software. I setup different users for each radio.
?
I have a 746pro and a 7300. The 7300 works fine.
The 746 with a Digirig mobile is not working with pwvucontrol on Mint 22.1 and pipewire audio? Recieve audio is full on all the time. Alsamixer doesn't help.?

FLAMP will not indicated a "CONNECT" status unless both ARQ and XMLRPC have connected. Use of both --arq-server-address/port and --xmlrpc-server-address/port have been set to unique values for each radio setup.

Debian is not a parent of ArchLinux, so ArchLinux is definitely not a copycat...examine both the package management, file locations, etc.

Instead of downloading Fldigi and the rest of the ham programs,? try downloading the installer from KM4ACK or Andy's Ham Linux. I use KM4ACKs version of installer. It covers about anything Ham radio. You run an install script and watch the magic happen. It will work on any computer with Linux on it. I have it running on Linux Mint .

But Manjaro is a good choice. It's easy to install, comes with your choice of GUI...and is based on ArchLinux....i.e. ALL good.

From hard won experience with Linux and USB-Serial adapters.
Bite the bullet, and buy some "genuine" FTDI chipset based devices.? They have unique USB serial numbers, that can be used with 'UDEV Rules' to reliably create such serial port ID's as "/dev/ttyFT950" regardless how it is connected to the PC, direct or via a USB Hub.? And that will stay the same for each session too, 100% repeatable and reliable.
In the UK, Technofix are a good supplier of such devices..
Avoid Prolific and similar chipset based devices, many online selkers are selling fakes!? In their defence, they don't know either!
