While I have used PlayOnLinux on occasion I have always been a bit concerned with having it on my machine.? I noticed that if I mistakenly downloaded a .exe file, for Windows, my linux system would of course supply PlayOnLinux as a option to open the file if I clicked on it.? I thought that if I mistakenly got hold of malicious software and allowed PlayOnLinux to open it, I might have a problem.? I don't really know if there is a threat like that or not.?
?
I suppose that there might be reason to be careful using it and know what file you are opening with it and why.?

I don't run PlayOnLinux, but just install Wine and Winetricks.? I find that if I right-click on a .exe file, it gives me the option to "Open with 'Wine Installer'" or "Open With... A Wine Application" in the pop-up menu.? Check your Wine installation.? I'm running Wine-6.0.3 from the standard repository, so nothing unusual.? Installation of HRD was very easy.? I installed HRD 5.24.0.38 (the old free version).
