Turns out that after restarting my MacBook Pro M3 (Apple Silicon/ARM) running 14.5 and loading FLDigi again, the above mentioned changes were not entirely sufficient to yield consistent results - especially the use of DATA-FM mode.

DATA-FM mode is not needed at all. ?Instead, the last missing piece to this equation, in addition to the above setting for menu 077 FM PKT PORT SELECT from the (Default) DATA to USB was to enable VOX by pushing the F [M-LIST]?button and scrolling until VOX was displayed then tapping it to turn it from the (Default) OFF to ON.

So, I would update the documentation to include these two changes and things would work - at least for 2M/FM. ?I'm sure all of the other settings being suggested by the developer in the documentation are there to maximize the use of FLDigi for things like CW and HF as well.

My hope here is that despite all the YouTube videos out there on the FT-991A and FLDigi, the information above will prove useful to someone else left scratching their head concerning 2M/FM and why it doesn't work properly.
