state this because there are programs that are either not current
or outright NOT available via the distro's native "program
download" tool but pre-built .deb packages are available to

A distant second might be Raspberry Pi OS and then maybe Fedora.?
After that, all other Linux distros are fine but you'll be on your
own to compile things yourself if you want the news and greatest.
