Re: Cable for FTDX10 + Z11-Pro 2
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSpencer,I use an FT-891 with a Z11-ProII and my homebrewed cable; equiv. to LDG's Y-ACC cable.?? I set the FT-891's Menu 15-16 to LAMP.?? Tuning is initiated by a press of the tuner's [Tune] button, the tuner reduces TX power, goes to TX until a match is found and then drops out, returning the rig to it's previous power setting. For your FT-dx10 I think you would need to make or buy a Y-ACC-2 cable that would go from the FT-dx10 Linear jack (GND & TX REQ IN pins) to the tuner's Radio jack.?? I did this years ago when connecting a FT-dx1200 to my LDG AT-600Pro autotuner and it worked well. 73, Ed - ad7gr I do not observe a difference in how the LDG tunes when the radio is set to INT or EXT.? It'll request a tune either way.? Didn't try ATAS. |

Thanks Spencer Did you change the general/tuner select option to ext or atas to make this work? Or leave at default of int? thanks Ed WA7EM

Re: FTDX10 and LDG RC-100 remote auto tuner

Hi, Just turn on ATAS mode, QSY to your operating frequency, change to AM mode and set to 5W power, press PTT and up or down button at same?time, the RT-100 shall auto tune. Afterward, return to yr preferred ops mode to CQ. This is the way I operate the FT891. It shall work for FT10 I believe. 73 de VR2XLQ On Tue, Jan 31, 2023, 4:22 AM Ed Mohrman WA7EM via <ejmohrman=[email protected]> wrote: I use my FTDX10 with the LDG remote auto-tuner. Re: Z-11 PRO II vs. AT-100 PRO II?
Ed Mohrman WA7EM
On the qrplabs groups.io site, you will get a flood of comments about the qprlabs products not protected from the high swr that will probably occur as an auto-tuner searches for the best match. What I have seen is the tuners are not super intelligent about homing in on the best match. Rather, they try a wide range of settings and then pick the best. So, most in the qrlabs group recommend against using an autotuner. Many like the tuners that use a bridge circuit such that the radio will never see worse than 2:1. You manually adjust these tuners unitl the antenna nulls with a 50 ohm resistor in the bridge circuit. Then, you flip the switch and the radio is connected directly to the antenna. I think QRPguys make this kind of tuner.? Most expensive big transcievers have adequate protection on their finals to survive while the autotuner searches? Ed WA7EM |
Re: FT-DX10 with LDG YT-1200?
My issues were with newest Yaesu models the?YT-1200 was supposedly compatible with.? As I recently posted, my used YT-1200 needed a newer ROM to work with my FT-991a, but LDG provided it after we checked everything carefully.? Works fine with newer ROM.
