I used to have the SGC-237, also at the base of a 43ft vertical and installed 32 30ft radials. Some were less than 30ft after several grass cuttings, hi, hi. Sold the 237, kicked myself sometime after for doing so.
Yes, it was a surprise to me that the RT100 would work with the Yaesu ATAS mode, LDG even says so on their site, all ATAS rigs were listed except the FTDX10, I let them know they work together.
So now I live in a STRATA similar to a HOA, no communications antennas, I assume that was aimed at CB'ers but applies to hams due to the wording.
So I'll have to try the rain gutter and I am in contact with a US ham that designed a circuit based on an Arduino Nano to detect the ATAS control voltages to drive in his case a Tarheel screwdriver antenna, in my case a Scorpion screwdriver antenna for ops at a park.
Where there is a burning desire to get on the air, a ham will find a way...

I have plenty of battery power ¨C now.. after rebuilding the power cabinet.? So the 1-Amp is less critical¡¡? This is my upgraded power cabinet.
In the mean-time, LDG took care of the RT-100 failure, and I picked up a second one at a tailgate for $75.? So I have two presently on the shelf.
We are about 90 minutes from rolling out on our next adventure ¨C a 10-day 4X4 event.? But I¡¯ll leave this message in my computer, and perhaps when I get back I¡¯ll look into it.? If you are using a Yaesu radio with the ability to employ the ATAS-120 antenna, the LDG RT-100 can be controlled by the ATAS function of the rig without using the Bias-T box. My RT100 works just fine with my FTDX10 in ATAS mode, set it up, press the TUNE button. ? I just purchased an AT-600 Pro II and want to mount it at the antenna inside a weatherproof enclosure.? Has anyone done this?
