Did not know that.? Interesting.

I used to use the RT-100 tuner at the base of my 46-ft vertical mast, driving a 43-ft vertical, an 86-ft Inverted-L or a 136-ft Inverted-L… all with at least one but up to six 33-ft radials. ??But the RT-100 blew up. ?A friend who has health issues and can’t go portable anymore gave me an SGC-237 while I was without a tuner.? And that is what is in the trailer right now.?

The radio in the trailer is a Yaesu FT-857D.? It is the only radio presently available that covers 160m – 70cm all modes….. has a removable front control panel, and had a current drain well under 1-Amp.?



I have plenty of battery power – now.. after rebuilding the power cabinet.? So the 1-Amp is less critical……? This is my upgraded power cabinet.




In the mean-time, LDG took care of the RT-100 failure, and I picked up a second one at a tailgate for $75.? So I have two presently on the shelf.

We are about 90 minutes from rolling out on our next adventure – a 10-day 4X4 event.? But I’ll leave this message in my computer, and perhaps when I get back I’ll look into it.? If you have suggestions on how to make it work, please do pass it on.? This info might be useful for another system I am building up.? THIS….. and a bicycle mobile are in the works.
