Fresh water appearing above nav station
8
I own a 2007 380s2, hull#409. Recently I noticed a small but definite water accumulation above the nav station on the horizontal surface that creates the coach roof just inside the port aft cabin. Fortunately, equipment mounted behind the vertical panel at the nav station sits on its own fiberglass platform/shelf. The water appears after a rainstorm but all deck fittings appear sealed, albeit difficult to visually access. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a seal between the helm station decking and the interior that might be compromised? Suggestions welcomed.

Drilling the Plexiglas Windows
6
Has anyone had any experience drilling into the Saloon windows? I want to install shade screens on the outside. I know there is a special bit for drilling a hole (about 1/8”) but was wondering if anyone else has done it. I plan on tapping the hole and installing small bolts. This is a 2004 410. Thanks for any help, Steve in Solomons MD 410 S2E

Flexofold problem
3
I have this ongoing issue with one set of my flexofold 3 blade props. It won’t open when going astern. All good going forward. I have had the prop inspected and measured by prop engineer and no fault found. Have switched props over, side to side, and problem followed the prop. So drive is fine. Flexofold in Denmark have answered my emails and offered suggestions, all of which I have covered, with no improvement. They quoted me the cost of buying a new prop! Their support has stopped there. I have seen two other online posts where the same issue has occurred, sadly no solution found. So it is evident that this is an issue with Flexofold props that can occur for no obvious or explainable reason, but must be a flaw in the design that rears up in certain circumstances. I have hauled out and had the props inspected again by industry experts and still no solution. I will just switch the blades this time and go back into the water. Maybe this will eliminate, or not, any possible issue with the hub. The props were always clean and free of any obstruction, absolutely no damage, blades are the same weight and were working fine until it stopped opening in reverse drive. I put a fixed prop on the drive and it worked perfectly in both forward and reverse. So, if anyone has had a similar experience and can offer a suggestion not already covered, I would be very appreciative! Cheers and safe sailing! Rex Tequila Sunset Lagoon 440

Hello, our Lagoon 440 029 is missing aft cabin headrests (they were missing when we bought the boat, but the velcro attachments are present). does anyone have closeup images and hopefully even full measurements of them? Do they come on top of the nightstands on both sides of the bed? Yours, Miikka

Solar for lagoon 440
11
Hoping for some advice please. We are wanting to increase our solar capacity without risking the additional weight on the dinghy davits after reading the article on the davit failures. We are also hoping to maintain the lines of the boat without the bulkyness of a massive solar arch. Our intent as per the sketch attached is to install 4 brackets to hold the two 1560 by 1050mm panels. Each panel weighs 20kgs so each bracket will be supporting 10kg each. With through bolts and robust plates on each side of the fixings what are peoples thoughts on whether this will work. I'm a little concerned about winds pushing up and down on the panels but after looking at the thickness of the coach roof it looks quite solid. I guess I'm in the hands of experienced sailors to guide me in this space. Thank you in advance. Milan Lagoon 440 Blue Pearl 2008

410 Rudder Quadrant Corrosion
3
These are the rudder head fittings (quadrants) attached to the port rudder on my Lagoon 410. It appears that corrosive sea water leaked through the emergency tiller access through the hatch cover directly above these fittings. The corrosion is very deep into the galvanized steel fittings. Where can I get replacements for both the upper quadrant and the lower autopilot quadrant? Also are these somehow keyed into the rudder shafts or just tightly clamped around the posts. 380 S2 Engine room covers falling apart
#380s2
Hello I just discovered in our 380 S2 (hull 519) that one of the engine room wooden “covers” lost its foam layer. These are originally just glued on to the wooden plates. Our boat is 12 years old and the glue seems to be at the end of its life span. So one of the foam layers ended up on top of the port engine. Luckily, I discovered this before running the engine - which could have caused real trouble. I am critical to those covering plates and we had them removed for about a year, but they take a lot of space if you store them elsewhere, so we put them back. To use the space created above them as storage space is crazy IMHO - because I want to be able to quickly get into the engine rooms at all times. The good thing about those covers are the noise reduction and the fact that they keep moist / small amounts of leaking water / dirt away from the engines. I fixed all of the 6 covers with 2 screws with large rings/washers on each, drilling the screws right through the foam into the wood. The rings/washers hold the foam layer in place. Because of the corona pandemic and the lockdown in Panama I did not have the chance to get bigger amounts of glue from a department store, and I like the safety the screws and washers provide more anyway. However, if anyone has dealt with this problem in another way - please reply to this post. Best regards Martin PACHAMAMA

380 S2: Separating windlass from port engine
15
#380s2
Hello I am trying to find a way to separate the windlass from the port engine. At the moment it’s original, i. e. I can only operate the windlass when the port engine is running. I know there is a thread on this forum where someone explains that the critical Relais is on the bulkhead under the sofa, close to the fridge. Interestingly it’s not like that in our boat (380 S2, 2008, Hull 519). Does anyone know where I have to look for that Relais/connection? I want to be able to run the windlass without a specific engine running - for safety reasons. Best regards from San Blas / Guna Yala, Panama in full Corona lockdown. Martin / SY PACHAMAMA

A bit off topic (covid-19 and the summer season)
Hello everyone from Athens, Greece I took the chance to make this post and addressing catamaran co-owners and charter companies who maybe read and participate in this great Group regarding the measurements that every country they belong to has taken to protect those businesses after the covid-19 virus wound in our industry. As I mention I am writing from Athens, Greece. We own a small company with 2 catamarans and we provide day charters in the area. I and my colleagues are making plans and projections and the statistics are not that good. Our company oriented in the US customers seems that it is not going to have guests in the upcoming season due to all the mess caused by the virus in the United States. On the other hand, the marina costs, maintenance, payrolls, office, loans, and general expenses keep running. The government has only issued an allowance of 800 euros just for the employees and only for a month, without counting all the above costs the companies have to counter. There are also some ideas to subtract the number of passengers per boat to 1/3 for social distancing. To sum up, I am really interested in learning how corresponding governments treat the local companies and maybe suggestions and your thoughts on how you think we should encounter the problems in the tourism industry for the next months and maybe years. Flexifold prop issue
11
Hi all I have a 2010 440 ‘TEQUILA SUNSET’...and am on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia I had the Sd 50s replaced with the updated sd60s and since then have had issues with drive from the Flexifold 3 blade props. Prior to that no issue at all, turn both ways on a dime! At present the sb prop won’t open when going astern... all other drives are fine. Linkages are fine... shafts are spinning fine in both directions but prop won’t open in astern drive. Props and shafts are as clean as a whistle and there has been no damage to them. Yanmar agent who did the work won’t come to view the issue despite 2 booked appointments. Anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions? Cheers Rex

220 vs 110 power
6
I am considering a 420 lagoon that is in the states, but has 220v power. Is this a problem to use here in the states if I do not go to other areas that have 220v. Can it be converted or is there a reasonable way to convert the power system to US?
