Re: Low Power Output
Had something similar happen to my LA-1K after about an hour of use(it was just a few days old). One of the LDMOS's died. I called Palstar, we ran some tests and I was told to send it back. So I boxed it up and $45 later it was on the way to Palstar. With-in a week the amp was back in the shack. Palstar paid for return shipping. While I run mine off of 120v, it is used nearly all day long and has been cycled tens of thousands of times. I've even configured fans on both sides of the amp in a push pull configuration. I've only seen it hit 70c once. I guess what I am getting at is once they get yours working, you will not be able to kill the thing.
Good luck with it, John / AI4FR |

Thanks for you replying, Dennis.? Yes, it's very frustration and disappointing when? new piece of ham gear fails.? I appreciate your thoughts and suggestion. I hope to have it on the way back to Palstar tomorrow. 73 Bob On Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 6:40 AM Dennis via Groups.Io <pegasus9000=[email protected]> wrote:

开云体育Guys: What would you want it to do? The amp already does a pretty good
job of band selection if you don't have a radio that will work
with the band selection inputs. The only other thing would be to
enable/disable the amp, and I don't think there's a way to do that
other than to enable or disable the PTT line going to the amp.
With RS-BA1 you can of course control TX power so you don't really
need to switch the amp in/out. Personally, I'd like to see more communication with the amp so you can get data to and from it. Perhaps some menu control and enable could be one of those. But I'm a hard-core geek and just like gobs of data displayed for me to gawk at. Chuck - N8DNX On 11/13/2018 9:18 AM,

开云体育BJN: I admit that was one of the first things I went looking for -- to
have the amp go into bypass whenever my HF-AUTO tuner was tuning.?
I looked at doing that using the tuner interface on my Icom radio
and making up a circuit to interrupt the PTT line when tuning,
which I could have done. Then I looked at the HF Auto App and learned how to program it
for all bands and desired antenna selection and never looked back.
I'm been using it with N1MM for a while now. Other than N1MM not
being my absolute favorite program for general logging, it does
talk to all of my equipment now, one way or another and I'm pretty
happy with it all. Of course if you have antenna conditions that can change a bit,
you'll need to have the tuner to come up with a new tuning
solution occasionally. Chuck - N8DNX On 11/13/2018 10:11 AM, BJN644 wrote:
The big thing would be the ability to put the amp in standby so you can use the antenna tuner. The ability to power on and off would be a bonus as well. |
