I plan on doing something similar with my FTDX10 to the LA-1K. The FTDX10 uses a 10-pin mini din, so I ordered a Yaesu SCU-18 cable to connect to a 9-pin solder-less terminal connector. I just have to make sure I get the correct wire to the correct pin. I'm using the chart in the LA-1K manual as a guide.
