It uses a genuine WK3 IC and the board design is a collaboration between Paul and I. He added a couple of extra features to make it a WKmini+
He sells that and also a WKUSB. Nothing more to it than that. No version exclusions or preview of future products.

I would like to buy a Winkeyer, but living in Italy, it became a big problem. UK is Europe, but it is not EU anymore.
I see Kanga sells K1EL stuff, wondering what I am buying.
For example, WKmini nano USB:
1) Is *exactly* the same of the one that Steve sells, except for the box?
2) Is it a next version going to be sold in substitution of the "current" or Kanga ones will always be a bit different?

I have to respond to this because it is not all true.?
First of all, not all WinKeyers use FTDI interfaces. We moved over to the CH340 a few years ago and have stayed with them.?
Secondly, I would never recommend changing both the WK and USB ICs as a general solution to an issue. It is very easy to determine where a fault is and we have rarely found both parts fail at the same time. The only exception would be a close lightning strike. Steve K1EL?

Yes I've tried all of that. Everything works fine with the winkeyer mini so it something in the box I suspect. Tried reaching out to company but they are too busy it would seem.?

Putting a different,.nee, winkeyer in line works fine which suggests the issue is with the problematic winkeyer.

Agreed. The design and function is very impressive but subject to limitations. Certainly the chip responsible for the USB com port portion seems suspect...its honestly? here nor there. I have a back up and remain convinced this is one of the better values in our hobby today...the way this device?can integrate?countless radios to software blows my mind. Just happy there are folks willing to put it all together for us.?
