Problems With dispatcher

#dispatcher
Hello Friends I would describe myself as a beginner when it comes to JRMI,been working on it around a week The end goal is to automate a train. As you see above i have entered Turnouts sensors and Signal Heads.I used SSL and i admit it was messy,so maybe thats come back to haunt me,but when i run a train Manually it seems to run nicely.Above you see a Train occupied in Platform 1. Does it look okay? So to the problem.I created a simple transit, using 3 sections Platform 1 to a Turnout Block to A Mainline(left to right. Everything looks good until i create a train in Dispatcher,as soon as i do the Dispatcher tells me the train is "waiting"and nothing happens I have noticed the Green Lamp you see on Platform turns from Green to Red as soon as i run dispatcher,so its saying ahead is occupied but where. Can anyone advise or ask me Questions to help solve Again thanks for your time.

WiThrottle track power switch
#withrottleserver
I’ve noticed something odd If my Lenz/JMRI system starts with the track power OFF, WiThrottle doesn’t show the track power switch at all, so I can’t turn the power back on again I then go into JMRI and turn the power on from there, and now I DO have the track power switch However. If JMRI starts with the track power already ON, everything works as expected Does anyone else have a Lenz LZV200and can tell me if theirs behaves the same please?? Cheers Phil G by

Is the Digitrax SDXH187Ao Missing from Decoder list?
3
#definitions
#digitrax
Just installed a Digitrax Decoder SDXH187Ao (or 0?). Using a NCE system on program track and DP can’t find the decoder. Using the drop-down menu decoder selection list for Digitrax, I am unable to find this decoder on the list. I have found a SDXH167 and thought I read where the 167 is an older version. Do I need to update DP? Would rather stay away from doing this if I can…everything is running smoothly while every update I do entails way to much retweaking and setting up to get things (com ports-Java etc). thank you. Using Decoder Pro 5.2 +R760b9853f with Java 17.0.6 (en) on NCE program track.

ESU and JMRI

I would like to know how to set faded sound levels using JMRI with ESU decoders. Is there a definitive guide anywhere I could see - either video or text based - that explains the sound settings in detail? Thanks in advance. Chris

Red Stop on WiThrottle Panel
3
#withrottleserver
I am showing a red stop signal on the WiThrottle Panel. The Panel shows my phone connected to the system, but nothing works. I must have something turned off, blocked or not activated. Haven't found the right reference in the help. What should I check? Larry

Ghost Block (v5.11.4) and Turnouts Question
5
I am converting all my turnout blocks from LogixNG to Ghost blocks since I was essentially doing the same thing for all the turnouts. However, I have this one short section with a single curve between two turnouts. Docs say "There must be at least one real block between ghost blocks". Is that really the only way? Or should I accept it and add two insulators and three feeders into the single section of track?

Dispatcher question - chaining transits
2
#dispatcher
HI, I'm using dispatcher, and I was wondering how I could automaticaly chain two transits for the same locomotive, or even a different one? Thanks. --------------------------------------------- Jean-Louis Paris-France --------------------------------------------- JRMI 5.9.5 on Windows DCC EX on Arduino Mega Java version 17.1.12

LogixNG extracting multiple values from table
3
#logixng
JMRI 5.10 Windows 11 I've been bending my pick trying to figure this out all afternoon. I want to set a collection of turnouts to individual states. I have a table with two columns, turnout name and desired state. I can extract the turnout names to a local variable in a for-each statement and I can set each of those turnouts to some constant state like THROWN. But I can't figure how to extract the target state from that second column and apply it to the current turnout from the same row. Must be simple but I don't get it. George

Panel selection doesn't work
6
#rpi
Pi 5 with bookworm, Java 17 and JMRI 5.10. JMRI Panels have an item called Windows in the title bar. When clicking on this item a drop own opens listing all the active JMRI panels. Clicking on a panel name should bring that Panel to the foreground and mark it as the active panel but in the configuration listed nothing happens when clicking on a panel name. There are no messages in the system log. Dale Gloer Jack of all trades at home and Southern Alberta Model Railway

Linking labels not working
3
Running a Pi5 with bookworm, Java 17 and JMRI 5.10. I have several panels with linking labels that link to other panels. These have worked for years over many releases of the OS and JMRI but in the current one described they do not work. When clicking on a label nothing happens and there are no errors in the system log. -- Dale Gloer Jack of all trades at home and Southern Alberta Model Railway

LogixNG vs Jython performance

#jython
#logixng
I'm just starting to delve into LogixNG. It certainly looks ingenious and powerful. But I wonder, how does it compare in performance to performing the same tasks in a Jython program? Is there any overhead? Thanks George

Editing a layout panel
6
Dear Dave I have done these things over a billion times but have no memory of what to do and no matter what i try nothing works.. i cant find the info in the manual in the edit layout panel area. using jmri 5.10 on windows 11 with a pad-no mouse. in edit mode i select block content and select block 39 i place cursor in upper left corner and click space bar-the selection menu at the top now starts going crazy selecting one item after the other. This is new-why does that happen? shift click gets the block content in the upper left corner i select the object and try to move it. I combine the arrow with every key possible and nothing moves it as i move the cursor how do i move an object? tony

How is the default layer assigned to resource folder icons used with the panel editors?
5
#controlpaneleditor
#paneleditor
Normally GIF objects I create and add using CPE are higher than 1. I recently created a large transparent GIF to cover a panel, and which I wanted to set to a level # above background objects and lamps I don't want to change with mouse-clicks, and below controls I do want to operate. However, when I added the icon I couldn't manipulate it with CPE. It dragged over but then disappeared. By jumping to PE I could see it was set to layer 1 like CTC plates, and where I could set it higher than 1 so I can manipulate it with CPE which I normally use. Which raises the question... how is the layer number assigned to icons placed in resource icon folders? Why was this GIF set at 1 while the others are not? Is this something I can change when creating GIF or after loaded in folder? -- Jim Moomaw Portland, OR - Willamette Model Railroad Club (WMRC) - NMRA, Pacific NW

Best Command Station to use with Decoder Pro
45
I really like Decoder Pro. But, the ESU Programmer is significantly faster at reading/writing ESU decoders. Is there a command station or other computer to DCC interface that I can use with JMRI Decoder Pro that would give me similar read/write as the ESU Programmer? It is my understanding that the weak link of decoder pro is the computer to track interface. -- Heath @ Human[c]ity http://www.humancity.org http://www.riversidetransfer.nyc http://www.manhattanmodelers.com

How to delete Panel background

#paneleditor
I created a simple panel using Panel editor and placed PanelPro.gif on it as a 'background' item. Now I can't delete it. What is the trick? George

Anyone Have a Schedule Strategy to Put Long Train Into Multiple Staging Cassettes?
5
#operationspro
My staging cassette will accept maybe six 40ft boxcars. I'd like my daily turn to drag more than just six cars to staging. Right now, ops build will only populate a train for that staging "track" capacity. Has someone developed a strategy to select multiple cassettes for destination rather than the default empty one? I tried to figure out using "alternate" track but mind twists in a knot. The cassette is designated "staging". Should it be designated something else to enable a strategy? -- Ken NYNH&H, Old Colony Division, Cape Cod Branch (1949-1959) Loconet * JMRI 5.11.4 * OSX,Win10,Ubuntu Blog: Cape Cod Railroad (HO) – Newbie of an Oldie Youtube: Ken's Channel

Startup/automation
20
Dear dave the new version 5.10 of jmri does not allow me to open a file in startup. i can load the ability to open a file but i can not find a way to open s specific file. i dont want to have to guess which panel goes with which profile how do i open a file on startup in 5.10 also remind me about switches being part of a block when using automation. i believe the problem was in putting sml signals at the switch. But if i run automation without signals what are the issues with having a switch as part of a block? tony

Functions above F12 not working using Digitrax PR4
4
#digitrax
Hi, I was programming an ESU Loksound V5 DCC decoder and noticed i could not activate any function above F12 using the JMRI Throttle in Decoder Pro. I had another locomotive with a V5 decoder so i also tested the issue on that with the same results. I'm using the PR4 as a standalone programmer on a dedicated programming track. The PR4 has the latest drivers from the Digitrax website and i also tried flashing the firmware. Is this a limitation of the PR4 in standalone mode? Am i missing a specific setting somewhere in Decoder Pro?
