Anyone Have a Schedule Strategy to Put Long Train Into Multiple Staging Cassettes?
#operationspro
My staging cassette will accept maybe six 40ft boxcars.
I'd like my daily turn to drag more than just six cars to staging.
Right now, ops build will only populate a train for that staging "track" capacity.
Has someone developed a strategy to select multiple cassettes for destination rather than the default empty one?
I tried to figure out using "alternate" track but mind twists in a knot.
?
The cassette is designated "staging".
Should it be designated something else to enable a strategy?

开云体育I have never used Operations. But if you have a track with removable cassettes, why not set the track length to a much higher value, for example 24 cars? Daniel On 2025-03-19 22:20, Ken Heywood via

Building on Daniel’s suggestion…
?
Let’s say you would like three cassettes that hold 18 cars each (triple your current six).?
create three staging tracks each long enough to hold 18 cars. Call them RED, WHITE, BLUE for example. ?
Then build 9 cassettes and paint (or designate) three of each by color. ?You will have to break down your train onto the separate cassettes, but then at least it really doesn’t matter how they are blocked since the three cassettes will stay together as a group. ? |
What the software thinks and what the operator does are two different things.
I think I will set one cassette at double capacity and keep one as "overflow".
I'll leave the other cassettes at configured length.
If OpsPro builds a train destined for that long cassette, it will be the yardmaster to put the extras on the overflow cassette.
When a build must use the "big" cassette, the yardmaster will need to pull both cassettes.
The "shorter" cassettes will add a bit of variety to the local freight.
